About Me
i love country living and the solitude it gives me, i live on a 300 acre ranch that is on a huge lake with my boyfriend. i am recovering from major back surgery. i love animals, i have a thorobred racehorse i rescued from starving to death and we together are healing. i love life and believe that everything is a living breathing thing. i have bird houses and feeders and a multitude of birds that frequent my yard . my life use to be full of drugs for many many years however i have been clean now for over 2 years, but all those years of drug abuse is now catching up to my body,as i can only imagine how bad my inter body looks from the drug abuse. sure wish i had listened to my parents about not useing them, all i can do i be an example for others to quit. please don't think i feel sorry for my self, as i put all the drugs in my body no one forced me, so i can take the side effects. i just hope i can just stop 1 young person to stop before they end up destroying their bodies. my parents are so proud of me today and i love them , they stuck with me thru it all and that is my biggest modivation to stay clean.
the last thing i bought for a friend was a gift card i got for answering online surveys $25 i gave it to my mom to do something for her beacuse she has always been there for me. it felt so great to do something for her.

good luck wiht the neck surgery
Hi there thayla, i added you on as a friend would also love to chat with you some more. Me too with a bad relationship or should i say 3 bad ones, i think i'm not getting it right i'm a naive sucker, frankly i'm starting to believe women when they call men pigs OOooppssssss maybe one is not suppose to say that there's probably some one out there that would think that's not right but then i didn't call them that the other women did. Oh well no one is perfect and i know not all guys are abusive, but when you've had alot of abuse happen it's hard to trust the next person. I'll let you know how my surgery went when i'm able it's on May 13, maybe i already told you that but wasn't sure. LLLLLLOOOOVVVVVVE horses they have been my passion since i can remember, broke my own horse in the 80's but haven't had any lately. Too expensive around here and with my neck not sure i should ever ride again will wait and see. Anyway hope alls well for you good chating back at you. Margie
hi thayla, good for you on getting clean and yes we all pay for what we do to our bodies, not a great thing but when we are young we seem to be invincible and drugs seem to make you feel good or so we think, of course like you said when we get older seems like the body wants to fall apart. May i suggest to you about vitamins and nutrition? I don't want you to think i'm going to preach to you about that but all that stuff helped save my life. let me know if you care to talk about some of it or not, but i also have to have neck surgery May 13 so after that date it will be awhile before i can write to anyone, so take care and hope you are well Margie.
howdy rita,
sounds like you had alot more done than i did. i know that the first week i couldn't move!!! they wanted me to get u and walk heck i couldn't even roll over to my side LOL
i am so thankful that i have got to stay in physical therapy since the end of december. today may be my last day, as they kept me an extra month.
my goal is to be able to ride my horse again. not necessarily to run him but to walk him thru the woods here
have a good day
Howdy neighbor,
Yes recovery is very slow. I actually had 2 surgeries in 4 days. One on my bladder and a 360 degree lumbar fusion. My Dr. doesn't want me to wear my brace unless I am walking far (out of the house) and in the car which I'm afraid to ride in.
I think he doesn't want me to wear it is because I was cut in the front and back. I was surprised he didn't even put a stimulator on me. He did on my neck but not my back. Weird but okay with me.
With you being so careful I know your surgery will hold.
Stay strong, I know it is a hard journey your are on as I have watched my brother. I think it is great you are on this journey and you will make it.
Your neighbor,
Rita
Hello Thayla,
We are almost neighbors! I live in FtW, TX. Pretty weird we are both recovering from back surgery. Mine was L4-S1. My surgery was March 2nd. Did you use donor bone? I refused. I have had 4 cervical spine surgeries, the last being in August 08, and when they used donor bone my body rejected it. My neck only has the top 2 vertabrae not fused.
My brother is a former user. He now helps people in NA and AA. He really enjoys helping others be right. He has a heart of gold. I am so glad he and his wife got their life together, she is my best friend I can count on her more than I can count on a member of my immediate family. Really good people. Do you got to AA or NA? You don't have to answer that if you don't want, I just assume you do since you said something about changing a persons life. If I get too nosey, tell me like it is. I am used to it.
I think what you are doing for the horses is spectacular. You are a very special person. Obviously your mom and dad realizes that and that is why they are always there for you.
Take good care and stay clean.
Rita
hello I just had my 360 degree back lumbar fusion on March 2, 09. Right now I am still in pain from the surgery itself. It really hurts. I will get better. Weird thing, my husband was on his last week of Cobra Insurance thru my previous job and he had the same surgery as mine a week to the day prior to mine. 4 days prior to mine I had a bladder surgery too.
You ask about the rods, my sister-in-law had back surgery (it was her 3rd lumbar) and she had hers in November or December and she swears she can feel her rod.
I have had 4 cervical fusions, started out as a 3 level in March 05, in April (2nd week) of 05 it all collasped, so it was redone. I continued to have pain so in May 07 they found a screw from the previous surgery backed out and penetrated my disk below, it went right thru the middle of the disk! Naturally, I had another, well my surgeon wanted to do a anterior and posterior approach but my insurance said it wasn't necessary. Guess what one year to the day the bottom 2 screws backed out, so I my insurance company reconsidered the anderior and posterior apporach and my last cervical fusion was in August 08! I am fused from C3 - C7 now.
I feel your pain!!!!
I have spinal cord atrophy, degenerative disk and joint disease, spinal stenosis, etc. and I'm only 45. Needless to say I no longer work, I live on SS and Long Term Disability from my job but I would rather work the 60 - 80 hours I used to as an IT Project Mgr.
I have titanium plate, screws, wires and rods in my neck and in my back I have a cage, and rods & screws.
hi thyla
sorry i havent answered till now i havent been around the norse in the pic is called april lass she is also a throughbred she is a ex race race that didnt make the grade she too strong willed and dose what she wants so cause she was too unpredicatable and was extremly stubborn to train , she was then sold to a guy who put her in harness asa trotter but he tried from what i have been told to beat her stubborness out of her and she has marks where her harness was too small but she is adorable and still stubborn but very sweet her and my other friends have kept me going

i hope this finds u in not much pain

I'd like to be your friend. I haven't had back surgery, so I can't answer your question about the rods. Wish i could help. I've clicked on request a friend. Hope you can accept. Hlsf you likr horses like me. Your horse looks happy to be with you. I can't ride the grey horse anymore. That program changed the administratoor, and it was not run right. Betty, the former administrator opened up her own program, and it's run right. I need to ride a snotth gaited horse, and she doesn't have one, but there are several there I can walk on until she gets the right one for me. In the other horse's paperwork, he's to live out his life at the other program, and that can't be changed. He was fun for me to ride, and I could win on him. He made it clear when I rode him he'd only listen to me. I got the best ride on him. I knew which buttons to push. More Later. Kathy I hope your tailbone pain clears up soon.
thsank you so much horsecrazy
