I am so sorry for your loss. I am a Nurse and for the life of me, I can never understand why patients hate going home when they are discharged. I try to explain to them all of your tests are fine and there are no medical reasons for you to remain in the hospital. I further explain to them that you can get sicker being in the hospital than being at home. I believe some have miserable home lives.
