I am 48 years old. My husband and I have been married 30 years.  We have two grown children, a boy (27) and a girl (20).  About 10 years ago, I was hit by an eighteen-wheeler. I was in a wheelchair or using a cane for several years, I have had steroidal injections, had a neurostimulator implanted, and finally now I have a morphine pain pump.  After several years, I am finally doing much better. I am finally doing a deep diaphramatic breathing/isometric toning program and after many years of not being able to take even a few steps, I am now walking 1-2 miles a day. My husband has been wonderfully supportive of me during every step of the way.  I love watching "The Doctors" to get  good health advice to keep me on the right track. (I gained over 100 lbs after the wreck with the steroids and inactivity. I haven't lost it all. I have a long way yet to go, but I have lost  27 lbs so far and still working on it.)  I was unable to be active for  about 10 years...so I know it didn't "get there" overnight and I'm not going to lose it overnight, but one day at a time.
