I am sorry Mary- had I seen your post before I would have responded. My name is Ruth Kivela, I live in Northern Mn.  I became a widow in May 2008.  (another long story.)  PLEASE accept my offer of friendship.  I was just diagnosed with stage III-N1 anal cancer and eill have my PICC line and port installed on the 8th. and begin chemo and radiation the 14th. 6 weeks, chemo on a pump 96 hours a week and radiation 5 days a week.  I am SCARED.  I don't know what to expect and my family is all on the East Coast.  I have 2 friends here and feel like I am stressing them too much with my illness.

Friends are SO important, I am 64 and I couldn't have made it through my life without the wonderful group of women friends I have...... My sense of humor remains intact, TG, I somehow believe I won't get through this without it.

Our cancer is rare- culd be that is why you haven't had "friends" contact you.

Hi Mary, I have had cancer and now am currently cancer free. I will talk with you if you need to talk to someone that actually does understand how you feel.
