Hey ALL!!
So is there some kind of record for not healing? If so I am pretty sure I have beaten it, If not I am pretty sure I have set it.
Today is 5 weeks since my original bone biopsy and 2 weeks since my emergency surgery, and I still have not healed!!!! The outside of my wound has finally somewhat healed only because of the fact that I had stiches put in when they did the emergency surgery. They were suppose to take them out today but they figured out that I still haven't healed inside so I still need them.
This seriously has to be some sort of record. 5 freaking weeks!!!!
Hopefully when I go down the 21st I will have healed all the way and will be able to get my stiches out.
Brianna

Brianna, is it time for a new dr? It is sad to hear you are not healing. You are not getting worse, right? Let us know when things get better. I hope that by Christmas, you will be healed. keep the faitha dn keep blogging! Hugs, Bobbie
Larissalle,
I have tried all those things, none are helping. I have been checked for the malabsorption and everything like that it all comes back borderline or normal. I take my pills in milk and I take a calcium supplement. Though techincally I don't really need to. My calcium levels are on the high end of normal. Yes all my testing is done down at Mayo, so thats not the problem. The problem is just that my body likes to be weird. After the last test showed that my levels were only up to 17, they upped the amount I am taking to 250,000 IU a week. I am now taking 50,000 IU 5 times a week. If that doesn't get my levels up then they will switch me to injections.
Bobbie,
Not time for a new doc. Well I could do without the fellow dude that I have to see in Endocrinology @Mayo cuz he doen't always believe me that I am taking my meds, Which of course I am. But now I don't really see him cuz I see the head of the department who specializes in bone issues. But the Orthopedic Surgeons that I am seeing ROCK!! :) The last time I was there they helped me review for my anatomy test that I had the next day lol. They are super cool and super invested in my case now and aren't going to rest untill they have found out what is causing all of this. That is great to know.
I will for sure keep blogging.
Brianna

Larissalle,
Everything you have posted and asked about has been done and checked and rechecked. Honestly I think my body just needs a lot of Vit. D. I heard from my docs today and they said they had heard from him just recently and he told them to keep doing what we are doing. Not to change anything. So I think things are going to be ok its just taking time.

Hi, Brianna, after getting help from Dr. Holick, did your doctors come up with a plan for your vitamin D? Hope you're doing ok.
