BROKEN KNEE?

SO yesterday my ankle gave out and as I tried to regain control of it, I lost my balance, next thing I know I am flying foward.  After all my falls, the thought immediatlely goes through my head no way am I breaking my wrist again, so I tucked my arms securely into my chest, but I had to stop my fall some how I guess, so my knee went foward and took the brunt of the fall.  It hurt like heck. It ended up being all swollen and black and blue. I got up walked very gingerly into the building and into class, sat through class, and then went to the on campus health center. They told me they thought it was broke or severly sprained... luckily I had an appointment with my orthopedist yesterday afternoon.  So I saw the orthopedist and he took x-rays, and told me that it was either severly sprained or broken it was impossible to tell without an MRI, but said that it was pointless to do an MRI because the treatment is the same either way.  The treatment is 4 WEEKS in a knee imobilizer.  so that is what I am in now.  I will wear it untill the end of next month, get it off have like 3 days with it off and then start camp.  I am suppose to do therapy, but I can't because of camp so they are outlining a program for me, and I am doing it on my own. Oh well we will just have to see how it goes. My question is, though has anyone else used one of these and had them keep sliding down when they walked? If so what did you do? Please let me know!!!

Thanks,

Brianna

Hey there!
I broke my knee in Feb and had to be in one of those restraints. The best thing to do is to wear 1 or 2 tube socks, scrunch them down to support the brace and it will stay up.! My doctor suggested it to me and it worked like a charm.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!
