Back in December my ear poped and it seemed random at the time, it hurt like heck and so the next morning a saturday I ventured to a near by urgent care where I was told that I had blood in my ear, a possible ruptured ear drum and that I needed to see an Ear Nose and Throat right away. So I called my mom who still makes a majority of my appointments and stuff for me because I am usually in class when the clinics are open, and told her what had happened. She said ok. Well as it turns, It was almost impossible to get into see my ENT who is the head of the ENT department at the Mayo clinic in Rochester MN. He was booked and then going out of town. The thing was it kept happening, and happening. My ear would pop and then would bleed. They couldn't tell me why it was doing this. My mom finding this hard as any mom would because I was home on break now called my pediatrician and he told her to bring me in immediately. So she did, he too confirmed that there was blood in my ear, that there was a hole there that it looked very yucky but that I needed to see an ENT ASAP which wasn't an option without going to the emergency room at Mayo. So we waited it out and I was on 5 different antibiotics and finally I did see my ENT and he removed the dried blood from in my ear and said that he didn't see an infection that would be causing it, but it could be a tumor or a cyst but he didn't think so. So if it happened again to take some ear drops that he prescribed and if it presisted after that call him. So the first time it did it again we took the ear drops ( which I hate by the way) and waited and it happened again so we called him and he just said to wait it out. So we did and it happened twice more but then seemed to stop. That was all back in January, Everything was pretty much fine untill about 3 weeks ago when my ear started hurting. We told my pediatrician who looked at it, and said it looked pretty good but with my ears that didn't seem to mean anything so he told me to start the drops my ENT had prescribed because it had started bleeding again. So I did, then two weeks later I saw him again, he said it looked a little worse and put me on a different type of drops hoping that those would do the trick. Then last night I heard three quick pops out of nowhere and then nothing but a high pitched ringing. My ear hurt worse than ever and I could barely open my mouth. I called my mom who advised me to go to the Health and wellness center on campus in the morning. Only this morning I woke up to find blood on my pillow and all over my face. It was caked on the inside of the ear that had poped and now lord only knows what happened that caused that much blood to come out. I am going to try to make an appointment this morning with the health and wellness center but if I can't I will be skipping my classes to go to urgent care. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them?
