About Me

Dear Doctors,

I watched your show today where you revealed the results of the patient who had gastric by-pass surgery and carries some 16 pounds of excess belly fat as a result.

In 2002, I underwent  "VBG" surgery. I lost over 100 lbs and went from a size twenty - eight  to my current size 18/20. Unfortunately, I too have been left with an "apron" of belly fat, sagging boobs, underarm skin, and heavy flabby thighs. I tried most every diet and fitness program for years after giving birth to my children, each gave only temporary results. Vertical Banded Gastroplasty seemed to a permanent solution to keeping the weight off. Now, six years later, I hate the way my body looks! The extra skin and flabbiness of my stomach and legs has affected my physical relationship with my husband. My quality of life seems resticted and I shy away from social events.

My question is, if I could afford it, would cosmetic surgery to remove my excess belly and leg fat help improve my quality of life and allow me to regain lost energy? HELP!
