ready to get started

I have spent a week learning about what I need to do to get healthy. I have thrown away the candy and have been walking on the treadmill for the last 5 days. Friends here have encouraged me to eat healthy by eating fruit, veggies and lean meats. I know what I need to do to get rid of my sugar addiction and I want to give it up. 

I'm a scrapbooker and card maker so I spend a lot of time teaching and sitting down. I am ready to get a bit more active. 

Weekends are usually the hardest for me. I'll let you know how I do. Thanks for all the great ideas. Time to get to work!

The only way I could get rid of the chocolate was to not buy any. Really, I have no cash (this helped with stopping at fast food too). I use a debit card when I went to the grocery store and bought the food on the list. This diet is actually saving me money, lol. I also need to drink more water. I have lost 5 lbs. Good luck.

I'm ready to give up on chocolate and not buy any more. I have stocked up on sugar free gum. I will take your idea of going to the store with a list as well. Thanks for the inspiration again. You are wonderful!

Chocolate is my killer also. I want to just taste a little tiny bit. I won't though. Keep the faith. I just keep remembering we are not alone in this journey! :)

We have gotten rid of all the chocolate in the house so all is good there. I feel pretty confident that today will go well.

I do have to go to the store to buy more apples and I promise not to buy any chocolate.

I agree with Sam...I don't crave sugar at all (day 8) I could pound back two large choc bars for fun...hang in there!

Yesterday I was hungry all day. when I looked at my totals for the day I was under the calories I should have had so today I added more fruits, veggies and protein. It's almost 4 and I'm doing great! I feel good and have much more energy :)

I walked 1 1/2 miles today. Thank you for your encouragement. I found some chocolate today and was smart enough to ask my husband to get rid of it for me. I later heard that he told the kids "if you eat chocolate, don't eat it in front of mom" I'll do just fine if I don't see or smell it. I'm strong right now and I plan to stay away from chocolate all together!

My daughters and I made a Goal of 100 min of exercise for 2011. I wanted to get that goal done by May and I'm half way there. I have exercised over 59 hours already and I'm really enjoying it! I went for a swim at the pool with a few friends this morning and when I got home I decided I wanted Tom Yum soup for lunch. A little place uptown sells it and so I decide to walk. I went to a friends and dropped off her new stampin up catalog, then I walked uptown and went to the bank, then I went and had soup and on the way home a friend saw me and offered me a ride. The wind had picked up and I know we are having a storm come in so I happily excepted the ride. When i got home I mapped the walk and I was thrilled to see I had walked 2.89 miles! It's been a great day so far... My stampin up class for tonight canceled on me so I will just use that time to watch a DVD with my husband. What a good day and a great start to the weekend!

A special thank you to my aunt Carol for the shoes that able me to walk all day without my heal hurting!!! I love these Z-Coil shoes!
