Hello! My name is Sandy Hoffman. I am an Army Brat. I was born on the Presido at San Francisco,California 65 years ago. I spent my young life in alot of places. I lived in Illinois, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maryland,  and  Texas.

I had a good childhood and a great teenagehood living with my parents and my big brother, Dickie. I graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso, Texas. I was active in ROTC, Home Economoics, and wrote a a column for the school newspaper called " Pass In Review". I attended  and finally graduated from UTEP in El Paso, Texas in 1969 with a degree in elementary education. I was not very active  in college, but I did manage to get two MRS. degrees during those years.

My first marriage lasted three years. My second marriage lasted 20 years. I gave birth to two of the most beautiful girls during that twenty years. In 1971, I gave birth to Crystal Leigh Hoffman. Crystal was born with spina bifida. In 1972, I gave birth to Victoria Lynn Hoffman. She was born physically perfect, thus ending my baby years. I had the two children I had wanted.

It was after Victoria's birth, that things changed from good and great to difficult and hard. I placed this here so that you would  understand that I didn't consider Crystal a burden. I wouldn't have taken a million dollars for the experience of being Crystal mother.

Several weeks after Victoria's birth I had pain in my back. I had two laminectories and a spinal fusion. Three years later I was allowed out of bed. I started my life.  I had 34 years as a productive person. I raised my children,I taught school for 29 years, and I worked for 10 years as a stage manager  for a variety show out of Fort Bliss called SHOWTIME USA.

Unfortunately, my girls have departed this earth. Victoria killed herself in July 2004. A loss to the world. Crystal died of natural causes in February 2006. She had lived for 34 years. The doctors told me she might live to see 15 years of age. She certainly proved them wrong. Both of the girls died in Baton Rouge, LA. Crystal had been on her own for 14 years. Both girls graduated from high school znd attended college. Crystal majored in Drama and Victoria majored in Water Landscaping.

But on January 29,2007 I fell. I fell flat on my back and my life fell forever. I was forced to retire from teaching as I was not able to work. I couldn't stand,I could barely walk. I have stinosis of the spine in the lumbar and clevical spine. I am better now. I am teaching on Educate On-Line. I have kept going. The doctors say as long as I have strenght in the arms and legs, there won't be any surgeries.

I walk this earth alone. My parents, my brother and my children are gone.  But  I'm determined  that my best years are ahead of me.
