To me it has always been a personal issue.  However, babies have never been able to make this decision for themselves.  It is, in my opinion, a natural part of the body and is there for a reason.  I think we haven't yet figured out why it is and what it's function is.  I call it the "Natural Hoodie."  Religion aside, I believe it's about cleanliness.  Teach your child well and there should be no problems.  As for the appearence of one circumcised, to put it mildly, it's just as you said; not very appealing -  - at all.  This is a subject that will be around forever and the bottom line is it's a matter of choice and what some parents feel will be best for their child.  When it comes to sexual relations I've only heard a few men state that it sometimes hurt (circumcised) during foreplay and on the other hand an uncircumcised male says the skin adds to the arousel without a lot of friction.  So I guess parents will have to take in all they can from both sides to make an informed decision.

circumcision hs good for a mans health i am not a doctor but i come from a place where it is still practiced and it is done to reduce or prevent some things in a man, peoples believes may differ but we believe in it and we are still doing it is a hygienic thing 

People can "believe" in circumcision all they like but that doesn't validate their pathetic opinion that it is "healthy" to preemptively cut off the most sexually sensate skin from a baby's penis. There is something inherently wrong with that. It's a permanent, life-long body modification, removal of a unique body part, without consent of the one and only person it concerns. It's a serious form of child abuse. If an adult is held down and his or her genitals forcibly cut down we can all agree that is a sexual abuse. Why is it ok to do that to a child? The punishment for the crime of doing that to a child should be even more severe than if done to an adult.

Those who have been brought up as dutiful within cultures that mutilate the genitals of children, mostly support the barbaric procedure and are for some strange reason are unwilling to see the obvious harm. Can you say cultural brainwashing? There is no valid medical reason for circumcision despite wishful thinking or "beliefs."

well... it's definitely a religiuos thing and a preference thing.  My husband is uncircumcised and is dead set that if we ever have a son he will be circumcised.  MY husband is constantly getting sores on the 'natural hoodie' nobody what he tries, including different underwear.  That, and personally, i would have to say having sex with a circumcised man is a lot better than an uncircumcised.  One of my exes ia circumcised... I think it looks better and is definitely healthier.

hendricksmom, amputation is not the solution to his problem.  How would you treat fungus in your toes?  seriously... my sister keeps getting them no matter how many things she try and yet she would never think of amputating her toes.    I guess for some people it is easier to get rid off the problem completely by amputating a part of the body instead of finding a real-not-so-radical solution to the problem :(  But what does it matter?  He is a grown man and if he decides to do that to himself that's his choice right?   Why would you force amputation in a non-consenting person without even thinking that this person might not even have a problem at all?

BTW, do you know if we circumcise the girls there would be less infections, less UTI's and even a slight chances of preventing STD's or HIV? sound familiar?!?!?!

Hey if anyone did their homework on cutting, from the beginning without bias they'd see the reason so many Males that were cut at birth hate it and why many are restoriing their 4skin by non-surgical means. i did, I love my skin and so does my lover- She related it to a tender loving-not some brillo pad ramming her in and out!

And I take offense at the premise that "Males" are the carriers of STD's and HIV! THAT IS NOT TRUE! "Any one that is loose in their sex life and does not keep their genetalia clean are guilty parties. Let's teach our children about their bodies in the USA and dhange our population's idea of how to be sexual, and we'll be fighting STD's and HIV! (The rest of the world is intact-what's our 1st world problem?)
