I am a GRITS (girl raised in the south! I am 53 years old, married for 34 years old to my high school sweetheart. We have 2 beautiful daughters, 30 and 25, and one fantastic 3 1/2 year old grandson. My hobbies are scrapbooking ( Ihave enough stuff to open my own shop!), music, and volunteer work. My youngest daughter is special needs, and I stay very active with her Special Olympic events, and as well as being involved with  other activities with the special needs community.  I am the current director of the Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant, and the founder and Co-Director of HeartSong Henry, a choir for special needs teens and adults. My family has been involved for many years with Royal Family Kids Camp,  a camp experience for battered, abused, and neglected children. At this camp, the campers receive cards from their counselors, other campers, and staff membes.Three year ago,  I started a drive to have handmade cards to use at this camp. Through an online scrapbookers community, where I posted this project, we have received thousands of cards for the children, who are thrilled with the cards they receive. I am putting this in my profile in the hope that there may be some scrapbookers/cardmakers who might want to  be involved in our project. 

In reguards to my health, I am an insulin dependant diabetic, on an insulin pump. I have been a diabetic for almost 20 years, and unfortunately, I have had times of being in control of myself, and times when I haven't been. This summer I went on a program and have lost 50 lbs. and really working to get my diabeties under control. So, to fellow diabetics, I understand what you are dealing with.  I hope to meet some people on here, who I can share ideas, and encouragement.
