My Husband has stopped kissing me on the mouth for fear of them being contagious causing me to get them also. He has terrible mouth sores. He either has one going out or a new one starting he has been to three doctors. His dentist has tried to help him. He has tried several different mouth washes, rinses, and medications. Such as Triamcinolone Acetonide which many things did help with the pain, but nothing is keep them from coming back. He is on a Vitamin L Lysine and is eating yogurt daily. These sores are very red with white centers, and very painful. Sometimes he can only eat soups, puddings, and soft foods because they are in his throat also. This is the only place he has these sores is in his mouth. My husband is 65 yrs old, and weights around 145 pds and is very active. We are open to any suggestions. P L E A S E H E L P

OUCH! You have my vote... I used to get those as a child. Not sure why I don't get now. I noticed it said can be gotten by the same bacteria that causes ulcers. I did have ulcer scar tissue found during x-rays of my stomach. Alum powder worked great on resolving them then. However, Alum powder wouldn't work in throat. I didn't know until in my 30's I was allergic to pineapple so (like most things) the process of elimination of what it isn't. Saw a lot of interesting causes at this link: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/canker_sores/article_em.htm

Nota Bene: Alum Powder worked great resolving canker sores as a child. Not ulcers when I was a teen. However, during a recent flare up of ulcers while under A LOT of stress... honey has worked on stomach ulcers. Hmmm... Recent research indicates that honey can help heal ulcers... Perhaps, too, mouth ulcers (canker sores). I hope your husband finds what resolves his canker sores. All the best to y'all both. SEA
