Donated Blood IS tested for STD's

Posted by PIXIKU to Community, Mar 16, 2010 9:54pm

Since it is the norm now for persons to have multiple partners which puts persons & their partners at risk for STD's. Everyone should be tested for STD's who hasn't been who's ever been in a relationship. What are YOUR thoughts on someone too embarrassed to go to the doctor to ask... donating blood since donated blood tested for blood borne STD's?

IF there was more awareness that STD's are tested for on donated blood more might donate & since odds are most don't have blood borne STD's would also provide more donated blood. There's talk ban on Gay's donating blood be lifted. On blood donation form advises those with tattoos not donate due to Hepatitis C; nor those with risky lifestyles donate. The thing is that THE majority of folks do fall in the risky lifestyle category now even if don't think are IF have had multiple partners (that's sobering).

Use to before you could get married, and perhaps still in some states, you had to have blood work to see if you had STD. To love someone else you have to first love yourself & it is loving to NEVER go into a new sexual relationship BEFORE "both" are tested for STD's. Honesty is still the best policy and that's a fact and the truth. Keeping blood banks full IS important and stopping spread of STD's IS important & since donated blood is tested for STD's there's no excuse for saying cannot afford to be tested.

If a person cannot afford admission to a movie theatre they aren't admitted. Our sexuality is worth WAY more than a movie. The admission to a healthy sex life is KNOWING you won't contract an STD or spread an STD. IF you cannot man and woman up to behave responsibly being tested for STD's then you cannot afford admission to mature adult activities. If you cannot afford birth control IF not with someone you want to have children with or are unable to provide for children if became pregnant you cannot afford admission. Adult activities don't make you an adult yet require us all behaving as adults behaving morally responsible with values valuing self, others, and children.

The Golden Rule is to do unto others as you'd like to be done unto. Perhaps, the first date a couple should have that's considering a sexual relationship is a date to both donate blood. I think more would donate blood if knew blood borne STD's tested for & since most won't have STD's would provide more blood for blood banks. Regardless, people should never enter into a sexual relationship w/o a clean bill of health just like is required on ABC's THE BACHELOR of both men and women.

[Now, that'd make it hip to be tested for STD's to do a THE DOCTORS show on STD & health tests required to be on THE BACHELOR since such a popular show.]

Speaking of donating blood be sure to give tips on how to have a user friendly blood donating experience by eating a big meal & having plenty of fluids before donating.
