Does anyone know where to go to get major dental help when your on disibility and can't afford dental Insurance? I have submitted my problem to the Doctor's Show, but I guess thay don't want to help me. I have seen other people get the help that they need, but they won't even call and talk to me! I don't get it, I thought they were there to help people. I guess you have to either live in Ca. or can afford to get there to be on the show. I can't do either! I don't know if I even want to watch the show anymore because of that!

Can Medicaid help? Is there a Medicaid program where you are?
Melissa.
Well, all I can say re that is that I am sure they get 1000's of people writing them for help and can't posibly help every single person. Sorry. That is just my opinion. I have heard though that you can get free dental care at schools which teach dentistry. you will have to do a google search for one in your area. Maybe even call a school in your area and ask if they offer such a service.
I have that problem too. i had medi-cal insurnace and i live in california. the insurance doesn't cover the dentist anymore for adults. but i do know that at ucla dentist offers discount for medi-cal patients. if you live in california though.
Try contacting a local dental college in your area, many many times they will do the work for no charge or very little. My sister in-law used a dental college in our state, and feels she recieved excellent treatment, and everyone explained thing to her very well. Check it out!!!!!
Try your local health department, dental association, or a local dentist for referrals. These services are out there, but, you must start it rolling......
I had this problem recently I needed an emergency root canal, I am unemployed and without dental insurance. I live in MN, so I don't know how much this will help in your area but I started with social services, but any application process takes up to 30 days and I couldn't wait so they sent me to the United Way and they helped me find a wonderful community dentist that works on a sliding pay scale. I am very happy with the out come and I have a new dentist. So try your local United Way and see if they can help you. Good luck.
I have to say it seems like your being a bit harsh on the Doctor's. I am sorry you can't afford your dental work there are alot of people in the same boat these days. I am sure the Doctor's cant help everyone that needs help even though they would probably like to do so. They do so much good, give them a break.
