Busy Bee
Hi everyone. Have been running like mad lately so thought I'd talk to you all at once. The hunters are in and keeping me busy. Between cleaning after departures and taking care of their needs while they are there, I fall into bed at night totally exhausted. On top of taking care of others, I decided to put in 2 camper spots and bought a camper for myself so I can stay at the cabins...
DEPRESSION MEDICATIONS
I would really like to see a segment on the show about the dangers and benefits of prescribing depression medications for children. Does the risk of addiction outweigh the benefits? Too often parents are not told side effects and addiction possibilities when these medications are prescribed for pre-teens. What do you think?
Address anti-depressant side effects and risk of addiction show?

UH OH BAD DOG
Hope there are some animal trainers out there to help. I adopted a young dog from the shelter. She was great, didn't chew anything, took meds for kennel cough like a dream and was quick to trust me. Last night I opened the kitchen door to let her out, and another much larger dog rushed to get in (she has no manners and won't wait her turn lol). Well, the new dog attacked. And I...

BELOVED CHI CHI
Last week I had to put my most precious friend to sleep. She had so many health problems that we had fought and mostly beaten. Then she was diagnosed with lyme disease and heart worms as well as the incurable demodex mange. She was incontinent and on special food and medication for it. Through it all she maintained a human sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed terrorizing me and making me laugh. After beginning medication...

WHAT A DIFFERENCE
A great big hug for all of you. Because you have all been so friendly and sharing, I find my shyness melting away. Two months ago I would have never done this--but. Today I went shopping in a neighboring state and decided to stop for something to eat. I found myself with what was obviously a new inexperienced waitress. I talked to her for a few minutes before ordering and she thanked me for being the...

SALT CAVES
Wow, it's amazing the info you can find out on a subject on the internet--especially if you know the name of what you're looking for. DUH (my middle name). This time I am going to blame it on my local tv station. I'm not going to admit I was on the DR'S site while the information came on the news. LOL

ANYBODY HEARD ABOUT SALT TREATMENT?
I heard a short blurb on a salt treatment being used in UK for cystic fibrosis on the 5am news a few days ago. Of course, I was not paying attention and they never featured it again. This treatment involves sitting in a room with salt in the walls and somehow filtered into the air. Supposedly the salt gets in the lungs and aids in ridding the body of bacteria, inflamation and mucous. If this...

SENIOR MOMENT
Yesterday, Tuesday, I could not sleep and finally got up at 2 am. I drank my coffee, straightened the house, surfed the net and decided to go back to bed around 7 am. As I came in from the clothes line the phone was ringing. To my surprise it was Paul, a neighbor's son, wanting to know if I had any work for him to do. I was surprised because Paul is never up before...

Laddie and Lassie
Laddie had such a crush on Lassie! Being a man, all he could think about was one thing. Each time he tried to make his move, she would stop him saying "Oh no, Laddie. I do not like the gleem in your eye". After much thought Laddie planned a picnic to where he wore extremely dark sunglasses. Again he tried to make a move on Lassie but was met with the same "Oh no, Laddie"....

The Answer
When I first moved to this part of the country, I was busy counting my blessings. I had everything I had been wanting all my life. So I said a little prayer "Thank you, God, I have been blessed so much that now I can die it would be ok". For the first time in my life I believe he heard me. Near as I can figure--this was his answer. I will grant your request...

So many wonderful people
I wrote my first blog EVER when I joined this site. At the time, I thought maybe somebody would be helped by telling about what happened to me after heart surgery. I figured I would never revisit the site. Then I began reading some of the blogs. Forgive me if I ramble. While reading the blogs I was overcome with admiration for all of you who have endured such illnesses and heartaches. Although so many...

Anybody out there got solar power?
Once again a storm rolled through and I woke up to no electric. I live in the southernmost part of Illinois and have power outages way too much. Last winter it was out for a week. That means no heat, no water, etc. The keroseen heater I have to use ramps up my emphysema and makes it very difficult for me. A generator has to be contatntly refueled and won't heat the house. Has anyone...

odd surgical complication
To those who just can not seem to heal after open heart surgery. I had absolutely no pain immediately after surgery or for months after. The incision, however, would not heal and kept oozing a clear, yellow fluid. Despite repeated prescriptions of antibiotics (cultures showed no bacteria present) the cause could not be found. Six months later a blister the size of my thumb appeared between my breasts, in the center of the incision. I...
