The ed-in-chief of Prevention Magazine on today's show (Quick Fixes for Your Biggest Complaints) said one of the most ignorant things I’ve ever heard: “Skip the raw milk and just have the Oreos.” What?!? Apparently this woman has no clue that Oreos (just like all other processed foods) are now made with genetically modified (GM) wheat and soy, both proven so dangerous that they can actually alter your DNA, not to mention that our bodies have no idea how to break them down and digest them properly. What kind of “expert” would recommend a packaged, processed, fake-sugar-laden, inorganic food over a perfectly NATURAL, incredibly HEALTHFUL food? It's strange that the doctors had just finished talking about the fear mongering going on over H1N1 prevention and yet they put a misinformed magazine editor on the air to do the exact same thing. Let it be known: RAW MILK IS WHAT HUMANKIND HAS BEEN DRINKING UNTIL ABOUT 60 YEARS AGO. It is what nourished ALL of our previous generations. (Research "Weston A. Price" for enlightenment.) YES, check to see that the milk is from a reputable source. YES, do your due diligence to know all that you can about cleanliness. But PLEASE do not think that this is poison — indeed, for those who choose to drink milk (as the FDA insists is good for us...those lobbyists are powerful), drinking RAW, organic milk is one of the most beneficial things you can do. Speaking of the lobbyists, remember that "regular" (i.e. not organic, not pasture-fed), pasteurized milk comes from cows fed a diet of almost exclusively GM corn and soy. Big agri-business and big dairy go hand in hand -- each has much to lose if the public saw the light and realized what it is they are ingesting and what they are supporting. And for those looking to the government for the most healthful path, there is too much of an economic interest for the FDA to speak out against either lobby -- hardly a new story, but it bears repeating. For myself, I am glad to have found a local organic dairy farm within 45 mins of my home which I visit twice monthly to pick up raw milk. (By NYS law, raw milk can be sold only on the farm, not in stores, so those of you who CAN find it in your store: lucky you!) Once you've experienced raw milk, you will wonder what in the world was the stuff you were drinking before. It is deeply nourishing and delicious. It makes you feel immediately connected to your environment. I bet you have an organic farm not too far from you, too. Please get informed about your food choices and do what feels right.

GREAT point.....missed today's show. Thank you.
Melissa.
Great comment, and I too have been drinking only organic milk for the past 6 months and have noticed an improved state of health, after stopping eating beef as well, and barely any chicken. I am trying to orient my grown adult children about the dangers that they are now posing to our DNA with these genetically altered foods. I remember an elderly aunt of mine in her early 90's telling me about the genetically modified foods that they're making and warning me of the dangers of it back in the late 90's. I have been listening to Coast to Coast AM on the radio and they have had many guests on there, scientists, warning of the dangers of eating these products, specifically corn, of which 85% of it in the U.S. is genetically modified. Then the soy is about 95% all genetically modified....and they put it into everything. BEWARE!!! I didn't know they were putting it into wheat as well. You can go online and there is a site which will give a shopping list for all foods that contain genetically modified product. I downloaded it and it is amazing what is on it. Please help distribute it to your friends and families. This is OUTRAGEOUS!!! It has been proven to make the 3rd generation infertile in testing on rats. I think this is what they are planning. Here is the site for the shopping guide....NONgmoShoppingGuide.com As well information on GMOs is also available at www.CentreForFoodSafety.org as well as www.HealthierEating.org We must get this information outto people. regards everyone......
