Hi I'm 37yrs old and new to this site. I saw Jeff's post from 2009 about 3rd stage CKD. I too am in this stage but only have one kidney due to atrophy of the left kidney from childhood. I have been in and out of hospitals all my life because of my kidney disease. It's been yrs since I have seen any Specialist. I can't see a nephrologist right now cause my insurance won't pay for anything (pre existing) yet. The only reason I know what stage I'm in now is because of a free health blood drive. My results revealed this: eGFR -59 creatinine serum- .80 BUN- 12 Ratio 15. From what I have read, the last 2 are in range but the first is what worries me. my glucose was 98 so I'm not diabetic but CKD and diabetes do run in my immediate family. I have had no serious symptoms up until this yr. I am tired all the time like I ran a marathon, along with rapid heartbeats every so often, cramps in my legs and abdomen, I have some swelling in my hands and face in the morning but thats it. I try to drink lots of water but sometimes it makes me sick to my stomach. I need to know how close I really am to dialysis or if I'm worrying for nothing. Please help me, I hate feeling this way and just want my life back.
Thanks for your advice
Sarrah
