About Me

My name is Teresa and I am a 51 almost 52 year old morbidly obese, mobility impaired grandmother and wife. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since I was 17 we celebrate our 34th anniversary on may 8 of this year 2009. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren, a daughter that is 29 who has a daughter 9 and a son with 2 sons 1 month and 16 months. His one month old son is still in NICU in El Paso Tx but is doing good now he had to have a portion of his small intestines removed. He is doing much better now. Hoping to go home soon. My husband is a career carpenter and i cannot work because I can only stand for 2 minutes or less and my back goes into extreme muscle spasms and it has been this way long enough now that straightening my legs is really hard to do completely.  I use a wheel chair when I know I would have to stand longer. I weigh 400+ pounds and it makes me really sad but without insurance that is something I am stuck with. The reason I wanted to write to you is because of something new that has developed as if I didn't have enough chronic pain already for the degenrative disc and my knees, I have developed a dialated vein in my left arm and left breast. The one in the breast goes from my chest wall all the way to the areola and then is now moving up the side of the breast at the front. I have had a mammogram and ultrasound and the diagnosis was a dialated vein or varicose vein. The problem is I now have one in my left arm too and they hurt a whole lot. Is there anything I can do? especially without insurance in a supressed economy. I would love to find a way to get a gastric bypass. I have type 2 diabetes too. I like doing a lot of things and can't because of my medical conditions that seem to have taken over my life. I don't want to be this way and would appreciate any help you can give.

thanks Teresa Montgomery
