About Me
I am a 59 year old female that works full time and is married for 22 years. All of my children are adults in their 30s and early 40s. I retired from one job after 25 years, and made a life change to another state which is my husband's home. Well, I have always had a problem with my weight, but it really went through the roof after my retirement and quiting smoking. I smoked for more than 30 years and made up my mind to finally give it up. In the meantime, I gained about 40 lbs and my blood pressure went up, along with my cholestrol. I developed GERD to the extreme. I thought I was going to die from it along. In 2004 I decided to do something to reduce my weight and get off the many pills I was on (14 all to together).
I checked out a local weight loss doctor locally. I went for an evalutation and got approved by my insurance for bariatric surgery. I lost almost 90 lbs in 6-8 months. I started feeling so much better, and eventually my doctors took my off some of the meds. It took about a year, but I was down to about 4 pills a day instead of 14. I felt so much better about myself, had more confidence in myself too. It has been five years now, I have gained some of the weight back, about 20 lbs, but I was too small after all is said and done. I would like to take about 10 lbs off, and have started working out again.
