I have deep muscle pain , sleep problems, anxiety, and depression. It's hard to do daily things my knees lower back and hips are very painful everyday. I'm in the house in bed all the time. I can't work anymore because I'm in so much pain.I've did physical therapy, muscle relaxant, sleeping pills, shots of steroids and antidepressants. It worked for a few days and thats it my doctors finally told me its nothing they could do for me. What can I do now to ease my pain?

Hi Ms Delilah,
I also suffer from fibromyalgia and can relate to each and every one of these complaints. It is very frustrating to be told that "there is nothing that can be done". Unfornately like many people with this condition, a combination of pain meds, muscle relaxers, steroid injections, etc. has been the ultimate choice of treatment for me but I will say that I found when I really cut sugar out of my diet (which is very hard to do these days), my pain levels dropped drastically. I played around with this theory for a couple of weeks and on the days I continued with my "normal" diet, the pain was almost unbearable. On the other days, when the sugar was eliminated or cut down, there were immediate results! I'm sure you've been told to exercise/stretch as much as possible and it seems almost cruel most days but it really does help. Keep you stress levels down if you can because stress creates pain and intensifies existing pain....Unfortunately, fibromyalgia remains a mystery somewhat as there are so many symptoms tied to it...chronic fatigue, stomach problems, sleep problems, restless leg syndrome, headaches, depression/anxiety, the obvious chronic pain, and a whole list of other things...so until there's a breakthrough, us sufferers have to just hang tight and wait for a miracle. I hope this helps. :)

Lbevll is spot on! Although I don't have the severity of your issues, I do know that I feel better when my sugar level is decreased and I strech/workout. Keep in mind, too, that you're brain needs to be stimulated, so laying is bed is doing nothing to excite it. Start a hobby that fits with your physical limitations: painting, drawing, writing short stories (not blogging), crosswords, sudduko, read something that makes you laugh etc....
For every positive thing you do, your brain releases chemicals that heal and you may be able to cope with your issues a lot better. "I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND IT DOESN'T HAVE ME!!" Practice saying that, even if you don't believe it and you will be one step closer to a better life. Good luck and God bless....
Oh im sorry to hear you are having so much pain and agony its terrible ! I myself dont suffer from this but i know a few people who do.their docs have tried several different medications she found something that has been helping her out but id have to ask her what she is doing.she did go to several different drs though until she found the right one for her.I wish you all the best .
hugs

Sorry you are in so much pain. I can relate very well. Seems like I am in pain 24/7. When I exercise and do something to stay busy I feel so much better; however, for the last 3-4 months I am completely exhausted. All my blood work has come back ok. If anyone has any answers for the chronic fatigue, please pass them along.
I take Neurontin for the fibro, Cymbalta for the pain/depression. Both helped some. Have to rely on Vicodan every four hours most of the time. Water aerobics helps if you have a center in your area!
Please send me a note any time you feel like venting! It's a day to day battle. Try to keep a positive attitude!

Thank you all for your support. I'm going to try and cut out suger and try light yoga. I'm looking into a medical spa so I could relax a little.

I too have fibromyalgia. I was having a huge problem with fatigue when my doctor suggested I go into a sleep study. My diagnosis was sleep apenea. My doctor said that many people with fibromyalgia tend to have sleep apenea. It is usually treated with a CPAP machine at nighttime. It's not so bad once you get use to it. Now, I have more energy and my naps have greatly lessened. I hope this is helpful to you.

I find if I rest my muscles mid-morning and afternoon by lying down (NOT SLEEPING) for even 15 minutes it helps. The meds are lyrica (more than most prescribe) ultacet and salalsate and even thro I am queasy it is better than hurting and zofran will fix that.It took awhile to figure it out fo rme and my prayers are you will to.
