About 11 days ago i had a low grade fever. the next day my lichen planus on my tongue flared up and I went to my ear nose throat Dr for meds and told him about my stiff neck and headache. The next day the headache got so bad i almost went to emergency room. I was off of work for almost a week with the headache and stiff neck. I have loss of appetite and light and noise sensitivity along with pain in the thyroid area of my neck also. Dr sent me to have a thyroid scan and my headache got so bad after the scan i started to vomit and pain was so severe I went to ER. They did head scan and lumbar puncture test and only found swollen glands along with a bladder infection. They sent me home with percocet and zofran. I still can barely bend my head forward it is so painful and I cannot stand up to long or sit up to long without severe pain in my head along with nause. I am getting scared because the pain is not going away and I am not getting better. I will get a low grade fever at times but it is not consistant. Anyone ever have anything like this?

The first thing I thought of was meningitis. I am surprised they didn't give you an antibiotic for the bladder infection. Have you seen a neurologist?
Melissa.
I forgot to mention that they did give me antibiotics too. they have not reccommended a nurologist as of yet.

Oh my gosh, no, haven't experienced those symptoms, but it sounds terrible and scary! It's also very scary & disconcertingthat all of the doctors didn't give you any idea of what could possibly be wrong, just sent you home with pain meds. Perhaps a neurologist (a specialist) for a 2nd opinion would be good.
Advice to all - ALWAYS get copies of your records or test results when you go to the hospital or doctors and keep them in a file. You're also entitled to copies of your MRI films / reports, etc. In addition, keep a JOURNAL of your medical conditions; Take notes when speaking to the Doctor(s), you can't remember everything or have someone go along to take notes for you.
I wish you well and hope you get answers to your medical condition, don't give up and just accept pain meds to coverup the possible cause. Keep us up-to-date.
