Did you try icing it too?  That works for me sometimes.  If it is severe enough (intereferes with daily functioning) the doctor might give you a muscle relaxer.

I have a back pain also and headache. my phyiscal therapist tells me that i have poor posture and stiffness. it could cause back pain and headache. I don't know about you but i hope you feel better soon.

Find the cause, fix the problem :))) The only way to rightly treat a problem is to know what is causing it.

yes, the cold pad (icing) helped me too. I put the cold pad on my lower back and sat on massage chair for 5 minutes, did this procedure for 5 days-5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening, so my backpain is gone.

Miranda,

Just a friendly warning about falling asleep

on a heating pad. I made the mistake of

doing that once and when I woke up, I

couldn't move to even get up I was in so

much pain. I had to roll off the couch an

crawl into the shower, the chiropractor

couldn't hardly get me fixed because it

was swollen so bad. I have never had pain

that bad before. Please be careful and try

not to keep it on longer than recommended.

It all depends if you have a hystory of back problems and if you have a position during the day or even night that agravates it. Some times back pain comes when your posture is bad and or if you do movements that put stress due to a poor muscle tone.

What I do with my clients is a posture analysis to find out if you're aware of your muscles who control your position of your hips, shoulders and abdominals along with the pelvic area.

You may want to try my 3 point magic alignment:

stand in front of a full size mirror or half or if not just stand agains a wall facing with your back.

1-look down and feel your hip bones right at the belly area in both sides left right, you'll feel the tip of your hip bones then, try to aim your toes with the hip bones, thats the ideal feet separation to be stable.

2- drive your belly bottom all the way to your spine.

3- drive your chine back to be almost in between your shoulders.

That will aligne your spine and the muscles to hold up your body and release some pain & tightness in some areas it may fell extrage for few hours/days but it will make you have control of your body and use less energy tighting your muscles and stretnght the muscles wh oare weak in the lower back.

Let me know if it helps.

happy holidays:)

If you don't know the cause of the back pain, it's tough to suggest how to fix it.  have you had them before? did you pull something or do something to cause it?  hmm.  do you have flat feet? crooked spine??  do you wear good shoes with good support?  it can be so many things.   even carrying a heaby purse on one side only can cause pain.   have you tried an anit inflammatory like advil?

you should probably just go to your dr to be sure all is well.
