Sick of Being Sick!!! :(

Well, as I posted yesterday, I went to my appt. with my Naturopath- and supprisingly found out that I have Walking Pneumonia. She found some fluid deep inside both of my lungs and when she took my Temp. it was 103.7 F.  I have Chronic lung disease (COPD) and usually get Pneumonia a couple times each winter, however- this year I didn't get sick once and I was really hoping that this would be the first year in over 10 years that i wasn't going to get Pneumonia- But I guess that hope is gone now.  I kinda assumed that since cold and flu season was over-and that I was in the clear now, as far as lung infections are consurned, But my doctor said that it's not only colds and flu viruses that lead to Pneumonia, Allergies can lead to a lowered immune system which then makes your body way more susceptable to bacteria.

Our bodies are always being bombarded with varies viruses and bacterium, but our own immune system usually is strong enough to kill them off  - a lot of times without us even knowing that we've even been exposed to anything.  However, when your immune system isn't quite "up to par," whether it be due to allergies, stress, lack of sleep, or inadequate nutrition- our leukocytes (white blood cells) aren't strong enough to fight off these common bacterium, which in turn causes us to get sick.

With Pneumonia in perticular, once you have had it a few times, you become a lot more likely to get it again and again (Chronically). This is because Pneumonia leads to scar tissue in the lungs, which lowers the functionality of the lung because scared tissue isn't able to absord oxygen.  So, now-when you get a virus or a bacterial infection it will generally target your lungs first, because they are the weakest part of your body (due to your prior lung infections) and the virus or illness knows that it has a better chance of survival if it infects this weak link.

Of course, those who smoke, drink, or do recreational drugs are also going to end up getting lung infections, and infections in general- So IF YOU SMOKE, DRINK, OR USE "DRUGS"- STOP DOING IT!!!!!!!

Dying from something such as COPD (lung disease) is a slow and painful way to die, because you are slowly sufficating yourself every day, all day.
