Hi Doctors!!! I am so excited to share this information with you as you have a good venue to reach many other people who have suffered from migraine pain. I began having headaches at the age of 9, and have tried all sorts of medications and remedies in the last 40 years. I was desperate as narcotic pain meds were where I was at to alleviate my symptoms till my pain management doctor, Dr. Frank King, here in Mission Viejo where I lived suggested RFA therapy. RFA is 'Radio Frequency Ablation," and it has been miraculous for my situation.( I asked permission to use his name). Because we all know the pros and cons to opiate dependency for chronic pain, this minimally invasive surgery has been successful for me for two months and the results can last up to a couple of years I am told. I wanted to share this as migraine sufferers may be aware of this treatment alternative. I had the surgery in office and did not need sedation. The recovery period lasted about a week with just a little tenderness and itching at the injection site. It would be awesome for you all to be able to recreate this event on your show and let other viewers know how helpful it has been. Basically a heated needle is injected at the site where nerve pain is experienced, and it is heated to actually deaden those receptors. It may sound a little frightening but it has worked for me, and the procedure itself was virtually painless. I still get headaches though the pain is so much more tolerable. The nausea and light sensitivity also have been minimalized, so I would encourage other people to give this RFA therapy a thought. Thank you for your attention to this letter. PS..Love your show...especially TMI tuesdays!!!
