Hi, I have been chronically and constantly tired, and actually sleep when I lay down everytime. I am not depressed or anything remotely like that, just always tired. I sleep about 4-5 hours at night (all my body will let me), then during the day all the time. Nothing keeps me awake, and if I'm tired I just lay down to rest and instantly I am asleep. Even if I've just woken up I will doze off.
Today I have been achy all day if I didnt lay down, and I mean I became achy to the point of pain if I don't lay down. If I am out during the day preventing me from sleeping, I really have to regroup when I get home or I have the hardest day, very irritable etc. So I can't go out for more than 2 or so hours when I can (I cant go out everyday). Once in awhile I have to be out 5-6 hours, and by the end of that I just am a mess when I get home. This is driving me insane lately with all the sleep I've had/need. Anyone can you relate?

It sounds like you may have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and possibly Fibromyalgia. Have you went to a medical provider yet? I would suggest you speak with your doctor about these symptoms, it could be something more serious like a thyroid problem and if that is the case you really need to get that checked out. Do you have any problems with your weight? The reason I ask is because a lot of people with thyroid deficiencies have a tendency to gain or loose weight (depending on whether the thyroid is overactive or underactive).
There are simple blood tests that can be run to detect these types of problems. Now, if you find out it is something like CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) there are different types of medications such as Amphetamines and Ritalin that can be taken to increase your energy level, however these types of medication can be very addictive and work in the same way the the street drug Methamphetamine works, in large doses there is a possiblily of psychosis and hallucinations, but when taken properly they may decrease your symptoms. You really need to weigh the Benefits and risks of any medication that you take, before taking it. If the risk outweigh the benefits then you should probably find something else!
If you have Fibromyalgia, which may be the case-as you said that you get achy and Fibromyalgia causes wide spread muscle pain, then there are now new medications on the market such as Lyrica that have been shown to greatly reduce the nerve/muscle pain associated with Fibromyalgia. Another medication that doctors often prescribe to individuals with this disorder is Cymbalta, which is a type of antidepressant. Now I know that you said you are not depressed, but this medication has some type of mechanism that appears to help with pain and fatigue even in those who are not experiencing symptoms of depression.
Hi jsking,
Maybe it is CFS, but don't think it is fibromyalgia. I see my doctor monthly for well checkups, but don't see him again until the end of December. These symptoms have just all of a sudden gotten worse, i mean I am always tired etc, but lately it's been constant, since I've seen my PCP 2 weeks ago. I do have a past history of depression, but am not at that point now, as meds help with that. I do have a thyroid problem, but it is being taken care of by meds also and my endocrinologist also watches it every month. My psychiatrist refuses to put me on any ritalin or any stimulants because of my medication load (I am on 15 medications for psych and med reasons) and possible side effects -- I've asked him for months to put me on one of those, but he refuses becasue he doesn't want any more side effects than I already have. I'll need to ask psych (I see him this week) about CFS and if there is anything he can do for it. Thank you for the advice!

Dear M,
Something that actually helped me this am and it felt really really great.
I sat on the floor like when I was a little kid and slowly I streched out. I had my legs opened uplike a V and took my arms over my head think elementray school gym glass and for some strange reason it opened up my CHAKRAs try to do a GOOGLE SEARCH on this.
I did like 50 on each side like I said really really slow on each side aand I reached in the front and by the time it was over I was crawling with my hands in front of me and it felt GREAT...I said why dont I do this every day?
I can also with your permission ONLY send you long distant REIKI HEALING please GOOGLE THIS TOO.
I have 95 people on my Prayer list in a book and believe it or not from NYC to California I hear great things from them! Let me know what you think ok?
xox
I know about chakras to an extent--massage therapist opened them up--it does increase energy big-time. I can kind of do it on myself. I would have a hard time sitting on the floor etc. because of my hip. I understand the concept of what you are talking about though. Doesn't mean I won't try it, just I can't sit on the floor too easily or be on my knees very well. Sure, you can send me long-distant Reiki healing. That would be neat to try out! Thanks! And being on a prayer list can't hurt. Thanks again,
Melissa.
I agree, it sounds like it could be Fibromyalgia. I have Fibromyalgia and Interstitial Cystitis (also called Painful Bladder Syndrome) a condition where the bladder lining sloughs off and the nerves are not protected from the toxins in the urine, think major bladder infection 24/7. I was actually diagnosed with IC first. I went onto a IC website and read the boards there. I saw that many of them also had Fibromyalgia, so I decided to see what it was. I immediately recognized all of the symptoms, I thought I was just getting old and it happened to everyone. I was tested and I was 18 for 18 on pressure point testing, you only need 11. I now know why for the last few years I was stiff and sore every time I got up. I was always exhausted and I missed many family holidays when I was still working because I needed the rest so I could work at least they now know it wasn't because I didn't want to see them. I had all of the symptoms and at least I now know why. I have been on disability for 3 years due to Fibromyalgia, IC and Depression. Fibromyalgia also causes a condition called Fibro Fog, where you can't concentrate very well and it seems too much to do a minor task and it can cause short-term memory loss, I suffer from both so I could no longer work. Like every condition, it doesn’t affect everyone the same way. You may need to find a Rheumatologist that knows about Fibromyalgia, many doctors don't believe it exists; some don't believe Interstitial Cystitis is a real condition either.
I think I partially found the problem for the tiredness at least....don't know about the pain.... but if I take 1/4 mg LESS of this one medication I am not tired all day. Today was great!
