Dark Circles

Anyone have dark circles under their eyes that seem permanent?  If so can you make them less dark by doing anything special like do tea bags or cucumbers or something work?  I don't like looking tired all the time; I usually am but when I am not I can have the darkest circles under my eyes.  Anyone know why, and any remedies?  Thanks, Melissa.

Hi Melissa,

I use an always have used under eye

corrector concealer in yellow. The eye

cream goes on then dab the concealer

on the dark circle and as close to the eye

lid as you can, the reason I say this is if

you wear eyeliner, it will keep the eyeliner

from smearing an smudging. Then be sure to

put powder over all. Hope this helped. Sludge

Usually mine is from allergies, or sinus problems.

Just use a concealer to hid them.  I don't think the creams really work. But, who knows?

Hope you are doing ok. Stay out of the heat.

Take care.

Me too Yvonne....the sinus thing Linda brought up might be it for me....it rang a bell at least.  I would prefer not to use makeup because it is too expensive and I just dont wear makeup in general, but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have on hand.  Thanks for the all the suggestions everyone.

I have had DARK Circles under my eyse for as long as I can remember.  There is NO concealor or cream that has helped me.  I have tried everything possible even getting more sleep.  That didnt help either.  When I used mae up it seemed to make them more visable and more horrible looking.  My eyes look like old bruises that never go away (brown) around my whole eye. I have given up on finding a remedy and barly look in the mirror.

getting more sleep doesn't help me either.  Thanks for your input.

OHHHHH----ok that rings a bell...  Thanks oddone.  I do rub my eyes a lot becasue I am inbetween needing glasses and not, so my eyes are always sore.  I'm constantly rubbing them and the area around them.  Thanks for your input!

I was just looking thru the new show topic's and one is"Do you have dark circles under eyes" and I thought about you,but you have to live in L.A. I guess you'll have to wait for that show to air to get an answer to your problem.IT's all about Calif. people again. That really gets me mad.

Thank you Yvonne...do you know which day it is becasue I am missing Thursday show and wont be able to tape it.  I know new show start Wednesday but would like to see the segment about dark circles.  Makes me mad too about the LA thing too but I couldn't see myself on TV so I guess it kind of works out.  It was mentioned that rubbing eyes too much could be the cause of it, and that  made a lot of sense to me.  My eyes are always sore and I am constantly massaging them and the area around them.  Even if I use my glasses it only helps a little.  Anyway, thank you very much for the heads up on the show.  I appreciate it.

I thought it was potatoes?  I could be wrong but I could have sworn they mentioned that during the dark circles segment.

hi melissa, did you ever find out what to use for the dark circles?

melissaw72

On the 9/8/09 show they said to use potatoes in some way...don't recall what to do with them.  But personally, I decided that make up is just a quick-fix, can rub off etc during the day.  So I just deal with the ones i have.  They are really only prominent when I haven't gotten enough sleep.  It runs in the family too I found out.  I appreciate all the comments and welcome more but right now I am just going to try to pay more  attn to sleep and see if it makes a difference.

I've had dark circles under my eyes my entire life. I've used products that help lighten the circles. It's the same products older women use on age spots. It actually lightens those areas but it doesn't go away completely. You can get it removed permanently by a plastic surgeon, dermatologist or some other doc who has the laser equipment. I've been told that the laser treatment feels like someone is snapping rubber bands at your face. It hurts but the pain is very temporary and the intense pain does not last more than a few minutes and by the next day, no pain at all.

Hi, I have the same problem as this and tend to use concealer as a quick fix but the problem could also be dehydration. I'm not sure if you drink plenty of water or not but I don't and have tried increasing this and have found the dark circles to be less visible. Drinking too much tea/coffee can cause dehydration so could be undoing the hydration that the water does for the body. Hope this helps.

Thank you...will keep that in mind.

Hi, just have a further tip on how to conceal it. I came across this make-up artist on youtube who does make-up tutorials and she has a great tutorial on concealing dark circles under eyes step by step. I tried it today and it made a huge difference. I looked younger and fresher in seconds!!! Search her on youtube: kandee the makeup artist.

I have dark circles......I've always been borderline anemic but recently, my Dr. told me I was anemic, so I think that is one cause.  Now for the cure........I've tried many concealers.... Estee Lauder Ideal Light brush on illuminator in the "soft pink" shade.  You have to be careful with it because when you turn the tube, it releases the product onto the brush and too much comes out.  To get it started, you have to turn it a lot, but after the first use, just turn it very little when you need to get more on the brush......and USE VERY LITTLE each time.....but it really does a good job of concealing.   And Benefit has some good products for concealing also, but I think the Estee Lauder product is better.   A~

I have heard that the dark circles under your eyes is a sign that you have alllergies to something. I also have these dark circles but have not yet found out what I may be allergic to.
