I got an email from someone asking me for suggestions of how to break a plateau, so I thought I'd share the information I responded to the email with:
Do you exercise?
Are you drinking ALL of the water AND green tea?
Are you eating ENOUGH? Following the exact plan in the book, in MY experience, does not supply enough calories; you need to increase the protein and veges (the unlimited ones) to make up for calories.
Also, maybe you are in "starvation mode," which means you are not eating enough calories. Your metabolism will drop without enough calories. If you are a 180lb person eating less than 1,000 calories per day for let’s say 3 weeks, your metabolism can drop significantly. If you google starvation mode there are lots of sites that come up.
Maybe mix up what you eat ... try not to eat the exact things at the same times (if you do).
Are you stressed out? Stress itself can pack on pounds -- this has happened to me.
Do you eat breakfast, or wait until lunch to start eating?
Also, maybe you don't want to focus on the scale ... try focusing on clothes size instead. Sometimes clothes size changes but weight might not (muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are exercising and gaining muscle, you'll gain weight or your weight wont change).
Hope this helps!
