Ok, I’m so discouraged; I have been getting the flu on an average of every two months. It usually start with sneezing then a sore throat and proceeds to a very stuffy nose, very tired and sore all over, then of course the coughing will start then the laryngitis. Sometimes I will have fevers as well. I have gone for chest x-rays and blood work. The doctor does not seem to find anything. Yes I have a lot of stress in my life but I do take lots or vitamin C, calcium with D, Echinacea, multi-vitamins and started taking Cold effects extra strength. With all this, I still cannot fight this. What should I make of this!!

Are you stressed out and worn down/out? Sometimes when I get like that for awhile I keep getting sick.
Melissa.
Yes i am Melissa...but still...you would think that it would stop. I have stress in my life...but still no reason to be sick every other month.
Could it be something recurring like walking pneumonia, or something...maybe you have something chronic, though not sure how to get rid of it without a lot of rest.
Melissa.
Did your doctor ever test you for a vit D deficiency? It took 22 doctors 4.7 years to finally test me for it after sending me through every test known to humankind that all came back normal. The vitamin D test showed that I was deficient, got treated, am on vit D supplements for life, and I now have my life back. Your multivitamin has 400 IU's in it, right? If you are deficient (a blood level less than 20-30 ng/ml), this is not enough. Every 100 IU's raises your blood level by 1 ng/ml per the experts. Let's say you have a level of 15 ng/ml. 400 IU's will raise your level to about 19 ng/ml, which is still in deficiency range. Vitamin D is not only for nerve, bone, and muscle health. It regulates 2,000 genes that code for proteins that fight infection, recognize cancer cells and either turn them into normal cells or cause them to die. Vitamin D deficiency is strongly linked to just about every major health condition out there. See my profile for info on vitamin D. Hope you get better.
