Hey thanx for the info. I've been struggling with bad breath for years and i dont know where its coming from. I asked my doctor and she said "i dont know" i'm in the process of getting insurance so i can ask an ent doctor. I have tonsil stones but so do a lot of people i know and they dont have bad breath constantly. i've tried everything in my local drug store and some home remedies and i'm telling you nothing works. i dont know whats wrong with me. and i'm not imaginaning it. I'm so tired of living with this. Just trying to find answers.

Carrie, I had my tonsils out after going in on a Thursday to see an ent and having him tell me they needed to come out the next day.  Apparently I had a lump in one tonsil that I didn't know was there.  The tonsiliths are GONE!!!!  No more bad smell, tasting them in my mouth, or wondering if anyone can tell if they are there.  I think the worst part of them for me was that I couldn't stop myself from poking at them with any range of different items.  My tonsil on the right was bleeding, which my primary care md said was perfectly normal, but the ent said, NO,  a tonsil should never bleed.  I am glad the ent went ahead with the surgery as the tonsil that was bleeding was the one with the lump that turned out to be nothing, but needed to come out anyway.

The surgery was uncomfortable to recover from.  I won't lie.  The first 7-10 days were the worst.  I was throwing up the first night and next day due to swallowing so much blood.  I went back to the hospital because I couldn't keep any pain medicine down, and was so nauseated.  They gave me an iv of fluids and nausea medicine and it was much better.  They also then gave me nausea pills to take when feeling better so I could take the liquid pain medicine.  I had read many stories online about how different people recover and some only take pain meds for a couple of days, and some find the pain the worst they have ever felt.  I am so glad to be over these things that it was well worth it.

Let me know if I can give you any more help or information. Good luck...my son still struggles, so if it is you or someone you love I feel for you.
