I was on the depo shot for 3 years, and my last injection shot was last October of 08! During the 3 years of use and still to this day I have'nt recieved my menstral cycle! I have heard that everyones different, with some females it can take awhile to get there menstral back after the stop of injections! But 8 months! I'm beginning to worry! How long is too long?! Any out there know or can relate?! I would like to try for a baby within 2 years! SO i'm worried sense I still have'nt gotten my menstral, if I have turned unfertile or something! HELP!

Mandi you such maybe get a hold of your Dr and talk with him or her. I do not know much about this subject.

I had the depo shot in December after my 6 week checkup with my OB/GYN...I only had it that 1 time because it caused vaginal dryness and took my sexual desire away. I still have not had my cycle since December. The only reason I'm not scared yet is because I'm breastfeeding still and everyone is telling me that's why I'm still not having a cycle. Since you were on it for 3 years it may take up to a year to get your cycle back on track...but still call your doc. to be sure...GOOD LUCK!!!
I received the shot for approx 2 years. It took about 1 1/2 years after discontinuing the shot before my cycle returned.
Mandi, I am 20 years old, ive only had 2 depo shots, and im 17 months without a period. you are not the only person with this problem! Have you found any answers to your problem?
