Control Your Environment
Make sure everything around you is queued toward your success. Put motivational pictures around your house, remove junk food and change your daily route so you don't stop at the doughnut shop.

Reach Out and Communicate Your Needs
Talk with family and friends about how you want to be helped.

Prioritize Your Health
Make time to prepare all your healthy meals for the week and schedule exercise time.

Avoid Fast Food
Prepare and eat clean, healthy foods.

Make Exercise Fun
If you are a competitive person, use that to your advantage by exercising with friends and joining exercise groups and teams. Going to batting cages, participating in martial arts and dancing are fun activities that burn calories.

Recruit Support
Do activities, like swing dancing or hiking, with your spouse.

Nurture Yourself
Get a manicure or massage, or take a bubble bath to relax and take care of yourself.

Take Control of Your Family
Make sure your family is eating healthy foods and exercising, just like you are.

Getting healthy and losing weight are important changes for your life, yet sometimes they can be difficult. It's OK to find yourself frustrated or upset. Share these emotions.
