I am 65 years old. I live in Oklahoma and take care of my mom who is 94 and my husband who has emphezema.

I use to weigh 218 7 years ago. I choose to have the gastric bypass because of heart and knee problems and was sure to be heading into sugar problems any day. I prayed about the surgery and my insurance , after three months of counciling and sleep test etc, I was excepted by my insurance. Thank God. Because today I would not be able to accomplish what I need to do daily. I am so happy with my self. I think I would not be here had I not had the surgery. I had heart problems and knee problems and would probably have suger problems.  It has been a success story for me. I had the best doctors I feel in the nation. It has been 7 years and my weight for the last 6 years has been around 117.  If I eat and chew my food and stay away from greasey food I am fine. I would like to be an encouragement to those people that are afraid to look into the surgery. They must research their options and doctors.  Most over weight people are in for a heart attack or diebites or something else life threating. 

The only thing I have now is saagging skin on my legs and a little on my arms and no fat to fill the wrinklies on my face. But with cloths on that covers that. :) would love to d away with that but that is not important. I am taking are of my mother who is 94 and my husband who has emphezema. So thank God I am healthy enough to do this for them.
