hyperthyroidism

Hey all I haver recently been diagnoisd with overactive thyroid by blood test and put on medication (mercanzole)whilst awaiting scan and specialist.  My question is I originally went to the doctor because I felt very lethargic, gaining weight, and headache.  These are the opposite symptoms of an overactive thyroid!!! wondering does anyone have similar stories and perhaps shed some light on it for me.  PS same symptoms still persist and on medication thanks all 1

Yes! When I first started filling the effects and even now I get these. I have never been put on medication, which I probably should have been. They're symptoms of having a thyroid problem in general. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001396/ I don't get the weight gain anymore. Headaches yes, but nothing serious. Last time I got blood drawn the doctor told me I had low Potassium (not that low) which can have some of the same symptoms. So I go get something with Bananas or Potassium in it.
