My 16 mo old grandson won't eat anything but baby food . He doesn't like the chunks or bumps in his food. Most 16 mo olds at least eat some finger foods. Not him. No potatoes and gravy, green beans dry cereal teething bisquits nothing. Any Ideas

With my son, my wife and I gave him all sorts of different foods to find out which he particularly likes. You can also try to put fresh veggies or fruit in a blender. It's fresher and has more nutrition. The best part of it is that it hasn't been processed, so you know what your child is getting. You can add little things like vitamins. That's all I really know, my son is 6 yrs old now and loves just about everything. He loves to eat vegetables..sometimes asks for brocolli...kind of weird for a kid his age. I hope this helps you out, it's kinda rough when they don't want anything to eat.
Take care & good luck, Jeff
My nephewjust turned 1 in October and began eating grown up food he like your grandson doesn't like bumps in his food or big stringy pasta ( they give him microwave Chef Boyarde) they mash it up for him or place it in the hand crank - fried chicken- just to get the lumps out. Try doing as they did at first by mixing baby food with regular food at first then slowly with drawing it as time goes on this could help with the transition.
Hope it helps.Carrie
Hi Grandma,
It is perfectly fine for him to just like baby food. He is getting his nutrition in that food so you don't need to worry about it. I have four sons and they all started eating "solid" food at different ages. My toddler didn't like anything "chunky" until he was almost 18 months old. He is now almost 2 and is totally healthy and happy. Still a little picky in what he will eat but I am not concerned. If this Is this something his parents are concerned about they can take him in to a specialist (a food therapist) Yes, there is such a thing and they will work with him to try different textures. But honestly I wouldn't even do that until he is 3 or 4 and still having serious issues.
