At my recovery meetings I am having men come up to me and they are starting to say I am beautiful and are noticing my body etc....
This is just 3 weeks into it.
I kept myself large to probally avoid this because of childhood issues and it makes me feel on one hand for the first time in my life finally getting to an average size.
I just want to be normal in my own skin. I must shed this once and for all! My husband says men look at woman for one thing andone thing only. I have a mind of a middle schooler at times! Thinking I can be friends with everyone!

Okay, be honest with yourself. haven't men always talked to you and been friendly with you? You are noticing it more now, because you are starting to see changes in yourself. Once you get used to being in your own skin, you will remember how to talk to male friends. Men and women can be friends. Just make sure you wear your wedding ring and wave it in the face of anyone who makes you uncomfortable. Just remember to joke about it if you have even a shade of a question. Like, oh, I'd love to have lunch with you, let me just give my husband a call and see when he is available. You are going to make it because you are a goddess. xox bobbie
Sue, you are also starting to feel more confident and it may show in how you present yourself, how you walk, talk etc. I applaud you for wanting to lose the weight. Some women won't because of the same reasons you stated and hopefully they will be able to delve inside themselves and realize that they are holding themselves hostage handicapping their lives. You're an inspiration.
When a man notices you, think of it as a compliment, but be cautious especially if a man asks you to coffee, "just as friends". Thats a flag. I think that's the equivilent to a bar pick up line, only it's a coffee bar these days. Celebrate the new you. Diana

You are a very beautiful woman don't be fooled by your past that you never deserved the attention you are know getting because you do deserve all the wonderful comments about your appearance. I know you're married and you love your husband very much but I know it gives me an ego boost when a guy tells me I'm pretty and my husband and I have been together 15 years - married 14 years. - So I don't think there is anything wrong with the lovely comments you're getting from other men just let it give you an ego boost. Keep up the wonderful work on both your diet and your meetings. I'm always on your side.

I think thats great!! it's such a nice feeling when people compliment yah isn't it? Your hard work is paying off.
It's true that men look at one thing, but still boosts our good old self-esteem as we get older:). We can look but not touch when were happily married.
What does your daily diet consists of? i have a really hard time staying awsy from those nasty, addicting CARBS!

*You* can be friends with everyone..... they may not have that simple ability. It depends on the person in question. You're awesome and remember that!!!!
