I am almost 6 months preggers. Glucose tolerance test coming up in a matter of days. Totally do not want to hear that I have gestational diabetes. At my last visit with Dr T, she said it was perfectly fine if i eliminated sugars and processed crap as I really shouldn't be eating it anyway. As long as I'm not unreasonably restricting my calories she says it's fine.
When I got pregnant I gained a LOT of weight, really fast. My Dr hasn't said much about it..but her nurse certainly has! But Dr T fully supports my decision to do this. She agrees losing some fat at this point in my pregnancy is good for both baby and me and will not affect the weight gain of my little angel as long as I'm still eating nutritious meals. Gotcha! Will do!
So here we are on day 5. My honey and I are doing the plan together since he's been gaining weight right along with me :)
Wanted to say the recipe for the eggplant parm? WHEW!!! we both felt like we were eating something we had no business eating because it was WAY TOO GOOD!
We both love the 17 day diet soup as well, very filling and satisfying...especially on a cold afternoon. We've been following the plan to the letter, and I'm trying to track the cost. Buying fresh veggies has been a challenge. Mostly because we keep running out of room in the fridge for everything. We tried to buy for 7 full days of the menu, but found it was more sensible to buy every 3-4 days for space reasons. lol
I stuff my lunch pail with extra salad, raw carrots or celery and pouches of tuna or salmon in order to get in enough calories each day.
With Christmas coming up, I don't know how great my resistance will be. Mom is making a German Chocolate Cake for my bday...I knew that was coming and I am prepared to slice it up and freeze it until such time as I can enjoy the deliciousness guilt free. But, I have no idea how I can get past home made baked mac and cheese, potato salad, candied yams, honey glazed ham and cornbread.
Sigh. I vow to not bring home a plate. LOL

I hear you on the GermanCocolate cake ... my absolute favorite! Homeade it is so hard and time-consuming to make that I get it once a year on my birthday!
