About Me

I am 38 and a mother of 3 boys (17, 13, 10).  My weight has been up and down over the years, but mostly up.  I am doing this to finally get to a weight that I am comfortable with.  My extended family has had some health issue especially this past year.  The issues were not related to weight, but it does make me want to become healthier.  I am doing this with my husband and this is the first time that we have been following the same diet so I am hoping for the best!!

Day 30 (Cycle 2)

Down 15lbs!!!  Cycle 2 was a lot easier then Cycle 1 and I am excited to start Cycle 3 on SUPER BOWL Sunday.  Luckily we will be staying home to watch the game and since my husband is doing this diet with me we are starting to plan our munchies for the game.  Any ideas are welcome!

Hi...just checking in with ya.  How are you doing?  I don't know about you, but I'm getting sick of eating salads already.  I'm gonna make some chili from the book.  Do you have any recipes that you like?  Have a great day!!

No...just missed your date..ours is April 28th.  Thanks for the yogurt tip..I'm not counting my fruit flavored as a real fruit either.  Your apple snack sounds delicious!  I'm gonna try that.  I'm a night eater so I try to stretch out my yogurt snacks, but last night I was starving.  I had a mini carrot and wrapped it a slice of lean turkey meat from the deli.  I figured, if I'm starving how much can it hurt to eat something that were already allowed to have.  It satisfied my need for something "crunchy" so I was happy.  I had mini huevos rancheros for breakfast.  YUM.  I'm on Day 2 and lost 5 lbs.  I'm definitely excited.  My hubby is starving too.  I think he's working out too much.  He goes to the gym for 2 hours!  I told him he needs to slow down because he's burning it up and it says in the book to not overdue it.  Too bad his workout doesn't count for both of us! lol  Take care hon!

Here's the recipe if you want it...obviously we can't eat the tortilla  http://www.dishanddine.com/index.php/article/viewArticle/article_id/5363

That is weird...don't tell me your anniversary is 4/15.  I am eating Chobani yogurt and I get it with the fruit.  I am not considering it a fruit although I have found myself only getting one fruit in the last couple of days.  Today I didn't have any fruit during the day.  I really wanted a snack after dinner so I cut up an apple, put some truvia on it and baked it in the oven.  It was really good and sweet which is what I was looking for. Other then that I have not had the fruit past 2:00.  Yesterday I was more hungry then I have been, but not too bad.  My husband has been starving.  I think drinking the water does help with the hunger.  You are doing great so keep it up!!

Kelly...we will be married for 17 years in April also!  That's weird, huh.  My husband has always been a health nut, but the past several years he has put on weight.  He is loving this diet.  I'm only on day 2, but I feel really good!  I already lost 4 lbs of water overnight!  YAY  Question, what kind of yogurt are you eating?  I'm eating Carbmaster from Krogers.  I'm buying the fruit-flavored ones and I'm hoping that doesn't count against eating REAL fruit before 2:00pm.  What do you think?  Did your hunger go away?  At times yesterday I was ready to eat a horse! lol  I drank water and then it went away.  Keep up the excellent work!!!  BTW..that's awesome that your kids can eat pizza and you don't want it!  That's my weekness.  Good for you!!

Thanks and it sounds like we are in the same boat.  I have also been married for 16 years (17 in April) and I have waaay more to lose then my husband.  We are on day 10 and he is having a hard time, but has more will power then me.  I have loved the diet and have not really craved any foods...even when the kids are eating pizza or fries.  Seeing the scale move DOWN has been a great motivator.  Good luck and I would love to be diet buddies.

Hi, my name is Gail.  My husband and I are starting the diet tomorrow.  I was trying to find someone who has been on the diet a few days and had experienced some success.  I also have 3 boys....14, 12 & 9.  I have struggled with my weight since I was about 20.  I'm looking forward to feeling good and healthy.  Would love to be diet buddies if you wish.  Congrats on your success!
