My husband works out alot and at the end of his workout he does his abs. Alot of times he ends upf with bad cramps or "charlie horses" in his stomach after doing the abs. He drinks alot of water on a daily basis so it not that he is dehydrated. ANy suggestions on what it could be?

How's his potassium intake? That gives me charlie horses in my calves and feet if I don't take prescription meds, even though I eat enough everyday.
Melissa.
I'm guessing that he takes plenty of calcium daily, which is generally for nerve transmission and muscle contraction. What many people and doctors miss is magnesium, which is for muscle relaxation. It's also a natural calcium channel blocker and is used in the ER for heart attack cases. In addition, I'd get his vitamin D level checked. Vitamin D enables calcium and magnesium absorption as well as regulating over 2,000 genes in your body that will help his health overall. If you don't have enough vitamin D, you can eat all the calcium and magnesium you want and you won't absorb much of it.
