High blood pressure

I have a high blood pressure and I'm 25. sometimes when I go to clinic, i get nervous and the blood pressure goes up and when i check it home it was normal all the time but recently even if i check it home, it comes out high and i took the blood pressure monitor at the clinic and compare it and my doctor said that it's pretty much accurate. he prescrbe me a blood pressure medication called hydrochlorthazide and I was feeling okay first then later on, i started to have dry eyes, diahrrea, weakness. My doctor doesn't think that medication is related to it but i told him i want to stop and see what happens so he told me to do that. I don't like taking medication anymore. i used to take a lot of different kind of medication for my headache and blood pressure. it has never worked for me. I have constant dry eyes but when i take medication it makes it worse. I'm not sure every medication does that but it bothers me a lot. I had been taking coQ10 before for 3 months and i never got a blood pressure reading high. I'm waiting for the COQ10 to arrive so that i could take it again. I'm not sure if coQ10 helped my blood pressure kept me normal but when i was taking coQ10 my blood pressure was fine. I really do appreciate my doctor concern about my high blood pressure. I really do like my doctor. he cares about me and wants to help me get better. my grandfather had high blood pressure.

Hm, first, have you taken an antibiotic called cephalexin (aka Keflex, cefepime, etc.) in the last couple of years?  If you have, I'll let you know about an experience that I had with it.  Second, have you had your vitamin D blood level checked?  Vitamin D is hugely involved in the cardiovascular system.  If you haven't already done it, I'd recommend it.  See my profile for info on vitamin D, and please let me know if you have questions.

HCTZ can deplete potassium.  So if you are having diarrhea also you might want to get your potassium checked. Even if you have stopped taking the med, I'd still get  my potassium checked to make sure it is back up to normal.

Melissa.

25 with a high BP? Hmm, I'm curious about your life-style (please don't take that wrong). You're so young. How are your eating and exercise habits? Sometimes changes in those areas can make a huge difference in your BP readings :) Any-way, for the dry-eye thing....have you asked your doctor about artificial tears? Supposed to be good for dry-eye :) Hope you can work things out with your Doc. All the best :)))
