I am a 38-year old Swedish woman. I ended up here today since I have realised that is time to lose some weight. I love to spend time outdoors jogging and walking and also doing other kinds of exercise. My time is limited though since I am a working mum (I am a teacher), a wife and I am also a student. The coming term I will study English so this is a good way to work with my English language.

Hi Jenny,

Hope your studies go well. I’ll be starting classes again next week. A little nervous about it but know this will be good for me.

I’ve kind of slacked off my workout routines this last week or so. Also haven’t been eating well, but I’m taking a multi vitamin to help balance my nutritional needs. Its kind of weird. One day I won’t eat much at all. The next day seems I snack all day. But more recently, the last two or three days I’ve had a lot of trouble with my ulcer. (stomach trouble) Seems anything I eat hurts me. For two nights straight I spent sitting up all night because I couldn’t lay down without hurting. I have gone years without trouble with my ulcer. I’ve learned, pretty much, what I can and can’t eat. But guess I’m feeling more stress than I realized to cause this episode. I’m sure this will pass with a bland diet.

Hi Lynn,

I'm still under stress and I guess I will be so until June 10, which is the last date for handinging in a report on a field study. Tomorrow is due date doe another exam report. I am about to continue writing the last things and then it's time to go over things - again and again. I like writing but it takes time, a lot of time....

Luckily, I keep doing exercise. Later today I am going jogging and tomorrow it's time for a boxercise class - by a lake. Wonderful!!! How are things going for you? I guess, the exercise and the family is what makes me keep on struggling as well as the fact that I want to get a good result with my studies. Last spring was awful at work and when I went to see my naprapathologist (is that the English word?) he told me that work had been stressful before I said anything. My back told him that, he said. Now, I have problems with my left foot and I have an appointment to see him June 16 so I hope he knows what is wrong with it.

I sound a bit negative, I see, but that's not the case. I'm rather satisfied with life at the moment though there's a lot to do. Take care and I hope to hear from you soon again, Jenny

Hi Jenny, It was nice to hear from you. I'm writting you from my cell. So please forgive the format. It is good yo hear you're keeping the morning routine. I'm having trouble getting started early. But my insomia has improved some. I want to make a morning routine for myself. I know it would be good for me. I admire how you have made this apart of your life. Oh yes, don't stress too much over classes. Easier said than done. I'm sure I'll be stressed when my classes start. Your instructors want to hear from you when your unsure about something. Hope you'll let them know what is bothering you. They want you to do well. It speaks of their teaching if the student doesn't do well in their class. Take care friend, lynn

Hi Lynn,

I hope everything is going great with you. Actually, I feel great at the moment. I've jogged twice this week, the last time yesterday, and I have walked in the mornings. Yesterday morning I saw a woodpecker, it frightened me a bit.... Silly me. I have decided not to mind my weight so much, just eat well and exercise a lot. I have decided to check my weight just once a month. The main thing is to feel good.

Hopefully  I am going for a bike ride tonight in order to look for a new round for my jogging. I need a longer round as well as new things to watch otherwise it gets boring.

My main concern now is to come up with a topic for a field study I am going to make. I always find this difficult so I am rather stressed at the moment. I guess I need to e-mail my thoughts to the teacher. Now I have to get back to the books. Let me know about your life. Take care, Jenny

Hope you’re doing well. How was the jog? I’ve missed going to the gym last couple of days. But I’ve watched what I’m eating. Plus I’ve done things around the house to keep me moving. I actually lost a pound this week.

Hi Lynn,

How are things going with your morning walks? I am going jogging tonight when the rest  of the family are on soccer practice. Also I took a short walk this morning and I am going for another during lunch time.

Boxercise is great fun! It's like boxing but without hitting anybody. Sometimes you use mitzes (I'm not sure that's the right word in English....) to hit against. Now my training is just one week away.

This term I study Swedish and linguistics. Last year I did further studies in English. I am a teacher for children from the age of 7 to the age of 13, but I have taught 13-year-olds to 16-year-olds for 10 years now. I teach Swedish and English. My plan is to complete my degree and become a Swedsih and English teacher up to the age of 19. In Sweden almost 100 % of the young people go to school until that age. It's called upper secondary school. After that its time for university studies. I love studying but next term I think I will do some teaching as well. I just have some time off from work. Actually, I get paid to 80 % of my wages for studying which is a great offer from the state, I think. What do you study?

Now I need to get back to my studies. I am going to orally present an article on analysis and writing on Wedenesday.

Hi Jenny,

Funny you should mention boxercise cause the gym is offering a class like that soon. I was thinking of trying it. What is it like?

You do very well to get up early for a walk. That’s something I should start doing. Kick start the day. I’ve gotten in this habit of working out later in the day. I think it’s making my sleeping problem worse. I’ll start a morning routine next week. There was a time when I worked out early before work. Although I’m not working now like you I’ll be starting classes again soon.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one heading back to college. I feel so old to attend again. Guess really what bothers me is the feeling of starting all over again. (at my age? grrr) Well not all over. Some of the credits I have will count toward this degree. I am dreading going back but this will make me more employable. What are you taking? I’m going back for finance.

Keep up the hard work. I still haven’t reached my physical goal yet. So I know how hard it is to get the body you want. We just have to keep going and never give up.
