I'm currently 6 months pregnant with my son. I have had 3 previous miscarriages all before 12 weeks gestation and firmly believe if I didn't put my health into my own hands, I would not have my son. With the previous miscarriages, My doctors told me that miscarriages just happen and it is natures way. I figured if its natures way, I would like to know why nature felt the need to miscarry. My doctors never thought about the why. After a lot of research, I realized the lack of the hormone Progesterone can affect pregnancy and can lead to miscarriages within the first trimester. I searched for a doctor who would test my hormone levels. When he tested, we found out I was severely low. Doctor prescribed me Prometrium. I was on Prometrium for one cycle before I found out I was expecting. During the first trimester, my doctor tested my progesterone levels weekly and adjusted the hormone accordingly. By week 13 of my pregnancy, I was weaned off the Prometrium completely. With many prayers, the help of my doctor and the support of my family, I have had a healthy, happy pregnancy and expect a healthy son November 14th.
