I'm just about to turn 23 and am extremely overweight. I keep getting heavier as the years pass and is making me quite depressed. Is there any good ways to burn fat fast? I try to eat healthy when I can but am on a very tight budget so it's hard. I don't like most vegetables, just fruit. I'm at work for most of the day so can no longer go to the gym. I'm feeling pretty hopeless and not sure where to start at this point.. PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP!

I am so sorry for you because I have been there many times and what I have learned is "NO"! You have to choose a program that works for you and resolve to stick with it. Choose one that encourages you to eat mini meals 5-6 times a day. Learn to rid yourself of "I don't like vegetables"! You haven't tried them all, you have not prepared them correctly or you need to learn how to combine them with foods to compliment them. Even if you can find 5-8 vegetables, you can work it. Get a really good cookbook with wonder ways to roast, grill and steam & bake vegetables. Roasting a vegetable like a beet (I swore I hated all beets) are wonderful...it bring out a sweetness and they don't even resemble those boiled bad ones I had in the past. That is just one example. Now I love too many to count...but don't try to make me eat eggplant unless it is heavily disguised and then it won't work w/this program! (LOL). Good luck! RESOLVE to this comittment. You deserve it!
Also, get rid of that time limit. It's too stressful! Also, work it 5 lbs at a time. The total number is too overwhelming! I started at 148 and thought my goal was 120 - now I am seeing books that say 99! If I would have known that, I would have tossed in the towel...instead I stuck with 5 at a time and now I am down to a firm 116 and fluctuate in the 115's. Yes, I still have a ways to go. But now I will work to 114 and then 110. Then a visit to my Dr. to help me to decide. But at 120, I maintained for two and half months. I resolved to never regain a pound lost! I never did gain a pound while on WL or maintenance. Write every time you bite! That is a serious reminder of what you are doing! You can do it, because I did it!
For me, drinking oolong tea helps. This is MY (to the doctorsboard) opinion though and just a suggestion. Can't guarantee it works with you, but it does with me. Have you had your thyroid checked?
Melissa.
I hope you are reading the book and really working the program since it's been a couple of days. Good luck! Don't cave!
A good idea to do if you don't really like vegatables is drinking something like V8 juice. Also you can hide vegatables on yourself. When you make something like meatloaf or any type of ground meat make sure you drain the grease out of it but you can grate vegatables into those things when it's that small you don't really taste them. If you are really busy and feel like you have to eat out go to someplace like Subway where you can put the fresh ingredients on it there is lest processed food. Even if you get the grilled sandwichs at fast food places they are literally bathed in butter. Another thing is don't buy the premixed seasonings those are right full of salt! buy the powders, not teh salts (like garlic or onion and chili) Lots of fruit and veggies and water is a huge key to weight loss! My mother went from a size 18 to a size about 10 (over about 6-8 months it takes time) and a lot of it was portion control and veggies and fruits. The other thing is getting an accountablity partner who will make sure you stay on track. Our family has also put our workout machines in front of the tv. Even if you can find an elliptical or a treadmill on a good sale somewhere and when you watch an hour of tv a night do your workout there. As much as you would spend on a gym membership in a year you would spend on one of those if you can find an outlet store you can do some cardio and maybe see a trainer about some weights and other floor exercises for you that would be a one time cost and maybe visit that trainer once every couple months if you are on a strict budget. Just really watch for sales.
(Just finishing)My hyusband and I have to do that as well and even sometimes buying reduced fruit and veggies if you can eat it before it will actually go bad. That's what worked for us we live on about $200 a month for groceries for the two fo us and we were ablet o get lots of fruits and veggies. Check the flyers as much as you can! That's what has worked for my family...
I really love V-8 and I don't think it is on C1 - but wish it were. I suppose if you hate veggies, that is the solution, thought. Good comment CDN....
Look up the Gastric Sleeve. Diets have never worked. They have a 95% failure rate for people like us. Go to the WLS (Weight Loss Surgery forums) and find outs whats going on. I was like you. I found out our body is broken. There is a area in your brain that tells the body how much it is suppose to weigh. Well if yours is telling you to weigh 200 or 300 guess what? You will be fat no matter what you do.
Read "Retinking-Thin". So your body is broke. The only solution is WLS. I saw the Gastric Sleeve on the Dr show & one month later I had it done. My family loves that I got my life back. I am 56 & was 290 two months ago. I am now 229 pounds & losing. My family was scared for me to have surgery but once I did, they love it. What pisses me off is my Family doctor did not ever discuss WLS with me. All he told me was to eat right. For Obese people WE CAN NOT EAT RIGHT! Our food cravings will not let us. The WLS Dr told me food cravings are as strong as crack addiction. Good luck dear. Sorry I was rambling on.
How about DETOX your body first? Try this:
1 apple, 1 long cucumber, and 4 mint leaves (Juice them if you have juicer) (add some water if you blend)
or
add apple cider vinegar (tsp) and stir with water. Drink it. (Yes, you will taste the vinegar but only for a moment)
Stay away from multi-vitamin supplements. Since you are 23, you must consume your vitamins naturally.
Carrot for Vitamin A, banana for Vitamin B2 & B6, nectarine or peach for Vitamin B3, kiwi, orange, grapefruit for Vitamin C, kiwi, orange, papaya, blueberry for Vitamin E. Make sure you eat fruits seasonally. That will save some money.
Since you've said "I don't like most vegetables" here is a tip:
Make an omelet of your choice with red, yellow, green, orange peppers. Choose your main source (shrimp, crab, beef, etc) (Include the veggies such as carrot, onion, spinach, etc)
I don't how much you are overweight but get your tennis or running shoes and start walking. (It's free!!!)
When you stretch, stretch your body far as you can for about a minute. You decide to stay longer if you desire. That will burn some.
Don't forget, drink a lot of purifed water!!!
It will take some time to reach your goal so be patient.
