Life can surprise you.  Everybody has their ups and downs.  When some people have all the good luck others have the bad.  My next door neighbor for five years just lost her husband.  I don't believe her daughter, age 11, has really dealed with it.  She keeps going about her business like nothing is wrong.  The day of the funeral she wanted my daughter to spend the night.  I told her no she needed to spend time with her mom to deal with what was happening.  I feel so sorry for them, but there isn't really anything that I can do to help.  The only thing I have done to help was to listen. 

When my daughter was born 9 years ago my grandfather was in the hospital.  When I walked out of the hospital 3 days after having my daughter he passed away.  He passed away 2 hours after I last saw him.  At least I had the opportunity to tell him good-bye.  Some people don't have that chance.  Especially, when people are taken away unexpectedly.
