I am a 63 year-old divorced woman who has survived a serious auto accident (3 and 1/2 years ago) and surpassed expectations that my family (my three grown children and two beautiful grandchildren), neurologist and therapists had for me.  From being in a coma for about 4 weeks, being confined to a bed, using a wheelchair, then progressing to walking with a cane; and, from being in a hospital, then in a nursing home, to living in an assisted living place, and then to apartment on my own, and finally (I hope!) in a beautiful condo that I was able to buy in a great community - Winslowe's View in the Pine Hills in Plymouth, MA.  There are still some residual things that I put up with from the accident - numbness in my moth and feet and legs and one hand to diminished vision that a wonderful doctor in Boston at Children's Hospital is working on (I had strabismus for over 2 years as well as BPPV).  I am grateful to be alive and have surpassed expectations for a normal life - even have traveled out of the country (Abu Dhabi) and within ths country - CA and FL - by myself to visit my daughters and a good friend!
