About Me
I turned 50 years old in 2008 and am looking forward to living the second half of my life in a healthy, productive manner! I began taking bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in 2006, and it has so dramatically improved my life I now have a blog dedicated to the subject: holyhormones.blogspot.com. I hope women will use it as a resource to learn more about how blanced hormones can improve your health and your quality of life. As a retired school teacher, it's in my blood to educate people, and this has become a passion for me.
Besides my work on the blog, I am an active member of the local YMCA, working out 5-6 days a week has tremendously helped me to rehab from a devastating auto accident in 1992. I try to stay as active as I can, and I have a number of hobbies: beading, smocking, nature photography, reading (I am absolutely obsessed with learning something new every day), and I network and love to be with people as much as I can.

Thank you for your input. Can you direct me to where I can go to get this type of Hormone therapy, I live in Westport, Connecticut.
Hi Chrissy, I am deeply sorry for your loss, and I am so sorry you are feeling so badly. I do know the biodientical hormones (I take progesterone and testosterone cream) have helped me drop my cholesterol by about 65 points, and my blood pressure now is very well controlled, in fact, one of the meds I was able to discontinue was the Altace I took for hypertension. The progestereone cured my hot flashes (and I absolutely empathize with you on those, I burst into flames many times a day) in less than a week. My energy level was so increased in the first two weeks, my friends were seriously starting to wonder what was up with me (I didn't tell anyone for a month I was on BHRT in case it didn't work)! The frustrating thing is, if you were feeling better you would be able to work (and enjoy a full life with your son) and then you wouldn't need the assistance, and then------and on and on. If one of your therapists is a psychiatrist, it might be worth asking him if he knows of anyone who can prescribe them for you, or make your case to your primary care doctor or gyn that you know there is something wrong, you don't think this is a simple case of depression (and I agree with you) and that you are very interested in getting your hormones balanced. I know it saved my life, and I will keep you in my prayers that you are able to get some assistance with this. Our health care system is so messed up, we don't have health care in this country, we have disease care. Please feel free to email me at holyhormones@gmail.com if I can be of further help! Blessings to you and your family.
HI, I am the one who posted ( Robin I need hope ) If you could read my problem I would like your opinion. I am so confused so much has changed all at the same time.My symtoms started right before my husband passed away from a heart attack in my arms. The weight of the world has been on my shoulders and alot of bad things have happened to my son and I since. Lost home, car, money everything.Yes I believe the doctors were correct that I was depressed and went on meds till we found the right combo. But I have public assist. Insurance now and not alot of doctors take it. I don't blam them like you said, Why should they do it for free. But I saw 3 different therapists. The sweating oh the sweating has gotten worse. Im a Vwgan. So need Iron pills and a muti but my chloresterol is 400 when 160 is the norm. I'm so tired ALL the time, They doubled the thyroid medication. My blood pressure is so high. before 3 years ago I was on no medication at all all blood work was fine back then. The 60lbs in 2 months was scary. It never came off now for the 3 years since it popped on.I eat very low fat, been for protein, egg whites even know I wish I didn't have to.Water orenge and apple juice and coffee and a red glass of wine with dinner. If I can peel myself out of bed. I can't work anymore. I only 41. I feel so bad for my son. I hate myself for not being healthy mentally and physicaly. Anything more you can tell me about your experience helps and what to expect. Thanks Chrissy Cricket
hi holyhormones, you sound like a very well educated person on your own health and the hormone problems most of us encounter. Glad i read your blog, do you mind if i add you to my friend list for i would love to converse about identical hormones. I am going to a holistic health clinic soon and get tested, i know i'm a bit off or maybe alot. But i also have to have surgery for Cervical Stenosis it's extremely bad. Turns my whole world upside down when encountering an incorrect move, wow eveything spins and you lose all control NOT FUN. So please let me know if you'd like to chat whenever or if you have any problems you also would like to share, lord knows i got plenty. BestRegards Margie Oops i guess i should tell you i'm 57, I always forget the othr important stuff.
