About Me

Retired!  Finally...seems like I've worked forever.  I have always liked helping people out.  I like the country and taking care of the wildlife around the house.  I try to live a natural healthy life.  I don't do fast food at all.  I would rather be home than on vacation!  I like to work in my yard.  My goal is to have a no mow lawn!!  Someday...  I've been planting ground covers for years now.

I had an accident years ago and problems with pain running down my leg and into my back.  I had gone to 2 specialists and one said nothing showed up on the x-ray and the other shot cortisone in my back.  Which did not help at all.  I was taking over the counter pills and ended up with an ulcer and had to take a RX for that.  I've been to physical therapy, chiropractors and through massage therapy.  None of which helped.  Well, actually the physical therapy did help somewhat.  Then, they said I was finished, but I really wasn't.  I was working on machines for my back and after that I didn't do any exercise as life gets in the way.  So, I just got more crooked each year.  When I looked in the mirror one morning I thought omg!  look at you!!

While working and listening to the radio I heard an ad for acupuncture. I kept saying to myself, I have to call there someday.  Finally, I did.  One reason it took so long was needles!!  I hate them, such a chicken!!  Anyway, I thought this was my last try.  When I called there the receptionist was so very understanding I was really taken back.  She made me feel very comfortable and I made an appointment.  This has always been a very touchy subject for me and I tend to get emotional when speaking about it.  It was years! I had my accident in 1972 so, it just seems like years had been wasted on pain.  Anyway, when I went to the acupuncturist she was very good.  Asked lots of questions and said she didn't know how much it would help, but we would see.  I told her at that time, I was like this a long time and I know I will not get better over night and I gave her 5 years to work on me until I retired!!  :)  Well, now that I retired 2 years earlier than anticipated I still have to go.

I just wanted to try to do something for myself and try to relax as I am a very stressed person.  I hold everything in and with the job I was always stressed about something.  So, I am still trying to get myself in a different frame of mind.  It has certainly helped me but I still have more to do.  My problem was I was bent over on my right side where my hip and ribs actually touched and I was twisted. Really a mess!!  You could not see a waist line.  Now, I feel like I'm standing up better, you can see a space between my hip and ribs.  Plus, I catch myself and tell myself to put my shoulders back to try and stretch.  So, that's the story.  So, there is still hope for me!!

Wow, you are having some bad weather. I'm glad those big limbs didn't hit your house. Our heat wave is finally over. We've gone from 12 days of almost 100 degree heat to 75 today. It rained most of May and the first part of June. I'm so glad the heat is out of here. We will get back into the 80s but it will be better than 90s and the miserable humidity we've had. My family has a cabin on the river, it is on a round piece of land and other people have a place there too. We are having a fire works show down there Sat. We do that every year. It is lots of fun. This week is going to be nice but now they're saying 86 for Sat. I just hope the humidity will be low. I've got a friend coming to see me today. We're going to cook out some steaks and watch a movie. Sometime inbetween we will go for a walk. Hope your day goes as well as can be. Faith

Hi Jimmie,  So you are in the hospital now?  Holy cow!  Do you know when this is going to happen or are you on hold waiting for a heart and liver??  That just has to be so scary!  How are you doing with that?  I just can't imagine what you are going through.  I will keep you in my prayers.

I just read your message, thanks for checking on me. you ask if i drove long distance or locally. I dont drive anymore I am 100 percent disable i cant pass the medical test to drive a bnig truck. The last time I drove was March 2005 that is when i had my second massive heart attack.  I was driving through Ohio  on March 7, 2005 in my big truck and became sick and was able to pull over and call for help.  Due to my heart  massive heart attack i dont work.  I wish i could and hold on to the hope of some day being able to work again.  I am a patient at the  Sanger heart failure and tranplant  Clinic in Charlotte N.C.   The doctors are telling me that i am going to have a double tranplant done,  What they are telling me is I need a heart and liver transplant done  at the same time , this is rare only about 65 that has ever been done in the U.S. They tell me that if i dont have it done that i won^t live  2 more  years because of the damge to my heart

Thanks for your note.  I have to say that I have had reflexology.  I did like it, but only did it a few times.  I think I will ask my acupuncturist about it.  As for working twisted, I think the hardest part was everyone asking me about my back!!  I hated it.  Like I said, this is a very touchy subject for me.  As for holding everything in I am really working on that, as I know what it does to me. I remember my husband screaming at me (years ago) and I actually felt the pain going up my spine!  I had never experienced anything like that! That may have been that very moment when I did wake up to the stress killing me!!  I really have changed my life around and left that jerk!  but still have the old wounds.  Slow but sure I plan on making a full recovery!!  Thanks again.  Hope you have a great day!

I JUST READ YOUR PROFILE. I TOO DO NOT LIKE NEEDLES NO MATTER HOW THIN THEY ARE. I COMMEND YOU FOR GOING FOR THE TREATMENTS. I DO NOT KNOW HOW YOU MANAGED TO WORK WHILE IN THAT TWISTED POSITION. YOU SAY, YOU ARE STRESSED BECAUSE YOU HOLD EVERY THING IN. THAT STRESS CAN CAUSE A LOT OF PHYSICAL PROBLEMS IN OUR BODIES, SO I  WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST YOU VERBALIZE EVERYTHING THAT IS BOTHERING YOU ON THIS SITE. THERE SEEMS TO BE A FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN EVERYONE HERE. WE ALL TRY TO HELP EACH OTHER. WE ALL BASICALLY PROABLY HAVE HAD THE SAME THINGS HAPPEN TO US AS YOU HAVE.AND CAN OFFER YOU SOLUTIONS THAT WORKED FOR US. I WOULD ALSO LIKE YO SUGGEST THE USE OF REFLEXOLOGY OF THE HAND AND OR FOOT FOR YOUR BACK. THERE IS AN EXCELLENT BOOK OUT WHICH I PLAN TO GET. I WILL TRY TO FIND THE NAME OF IT FOR YOU. IF YOU HAVE A MASSAGE THERAPIST IN YOUR AREA, ASK THEM IF THEY ARE LICENSED TO DO REFLEXOLOGY. I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN THIS TYPE OF THERAPY. TAKE CARE AND LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.

Just wanted to say good morning to you and hope your week-end is going well.

Well, I'm very happy to be your friend.

Unless you are someone who just gives advice. I'm starting to figure out that some profiles are blank because it is people who just give advice.

I always think about people who have it worse than I do too, when I'm feeling sorry for myself I guess you could call it. so, tell me about you. It's alittle confusing to add someone when they have a blank profile.

thanks for the info you told me about I will check into it . you are right it cant hurt things much.   I try to keep a positive outlook on life  for I believe that you have to make the best out of your life. people need to remember that they may have it bad ,but their are other with worst problems then they have and it could be worst
