we have a britney spaniel about 14months old he is so funny, you seem to have control of yours. my dog wont and fights me everytime i tell him to come. oh he will come if he isnt interested in somthing else. 

we had to put an fence cause he would take off . he is so smart yet i cant get him to do things when he has his mind made up

 maybe we can trade ideas on this site and dogs if you want to.

Like the picture of your dog on the couch.I have 2 big labs that think the own our house,they are spoiled!But we love them. I envy you living in San Diego,cause my son and grandkids live about an 90mins away from there in EL Centro and I do not get to see them often.Have a good day......Yvonne
