Happy holidays everyone! I am 17 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Does anyone know what month I'm in? I've heard many different answers from websites/practitioners... and I don't know which is the right answer. Please help!

Hi Hanah,
You are pregnant for 40 weeks so I always went by weeks. I've had 4 kids ...and someone will always ask you how many months along are you... Just tell them...17 weeks and let them figure it out! :)
Congratulations and good luck!
Hi Hanah:
it is ur 4th month....and ur going on the 5th
good luck and i wish u well health
I don't get it... 9 months by 4 weeks is 36... where did the extra 4 come from? How come pregnancy is 40 weeks?
In the medical field they count from your 1st day of your period........they never know when you conceived so it safer to say that you're pregnant from the 1st day you got your period, which doesnt make any sense at all but thats just how it works. and in months its just 9!!!! so just be simple and count 9 months from when you got pregnant.
I guess its your 1st one and it really seems that you're very stressed about it! Believe, just believe in yourself that you'll be a very good mom and you'll be having a wonderful time and never ever make yourself feel scared about labor!!!!!! your body knows what to do and the pain is nothing! just like your period...... even if you've heard different just make yourself believe the things you wanna feel and you'll be OK
Hi Hanah,
Yes, you will be pregnant for 40 weeks. Have you seen an OB? He or She should have explained all of this to you. Right now at 17 weeks you should be getting very important blood tests done. At 36 weeks you start seeing your OB every week until you deliver. Some women go before 40 weeks and some OB's let their patients go until 42 weeks and then they usually induce labor by that point. There is a great site to go to to find out what going on in your body.
Click on pregnancy.

yes I go to my OB very regularly because I used to have a large ovarian cyst which is now very small thank God. I moved away from my coutry and family and have little faith in the doctors here, but I do plan to go home and give birth. With the cyst, being far from home, and this being my first pregnancy, I do occasionally get stressed out :) Luckily I have a supportive husband to share all my fears with, but it feels better to hear assuring things from women who've been there. Thank you from the bottom of my heart :)
YOU ARE 4 MONTHS AND 1 WEEK,
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
DEBBIE
I remember being pretty stressed about the whole pregnancy with my first as well. Just remember that your body knows what it's supposed to do (thank goodness) and all you have to do is eat well, and be safe! Also, pregnancy massages are so wonderful and most insurances cover up to 12 a year so look into that because your body needs that special attention! Good Luck! :)
