I'M A 48 YEAR OLD MAN FINALLY TAKING CARE OF ME AND I'M FEELING GOOD ABOUT IT. I'VE GIVEN UP DRINKING, SMOKING AND DRUGS AND I AM FEELING PAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 30 YEARS BECAUSE I'M NOT NUMBING MYSELF ANYMORE. I HAD A RECENT ULTRASOUND ON MY NECK BECAUSE I'VE GOT DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE AND THEY FOUND 2 NODULES ON MY THYROID GLAND. NO BIG DEAL THEY RUN IN MY FAMILY. THE THING IS THAT THE ONE ON THE LEFT IS QUITE LARGE AND IT HAS CALCIFICATIONS IN IT. SO THEY ARE DOING A BIOPSY ON THE 26TH. THE ENDO-DOC WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE OF MY THYROID FUNCTION TESTS CAME BACK AND THEY'RE NOT WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS. THESE THINGS CONCERN ME, BUT I WON'T START DRINKING AGAIN. I'VE GOT A YEAR SOBRIETY AS OF APRIL 12TH

Best of luck to you on your journey to success, It's not an easy road but the rewards are great.
I don't drink or do drugs but I do smoke. I hope to get my ducks in a row and start that journey
again too. (for the sixth time)
Congratulations on getting your one year chip!! I know from my mom that that is a HUGE accomplishment. Best thing to do is pray, get the things biopsied and blog, blog, blog. You will find friends and support her that you have not known in the past. You are not alone and you will get stronger. Keep up with the doctors appts. and let us know how you make out. Good luck, Bobbie
Keep remembering the good feelings you have with not "numbing" yourself anymore, and that in itself should help you along. Congratulations on the year sobriety..that is a huge accomplishment! Good luck to you!
Melissa.
